I guess everyone is trying to get the sale first. It's so far in advance though that it does seem silly, doesn't it?

You must mean Sacred Plus or the expansion - Sacred 2 isn't out for a bit, and if you've got it you've gone through the time vortex and are in even worse shape than you thought! Hey, take a few weeks off and just play!

Oops, your right... I mean Sacred Gold... After playing Plane Scape Torment I had to try Fallout since it was by the same folks.... It was nice that they had the older ones in a re-release...

I guess we are the only Fallout fans here!!! Heh, if you only knew. Fallout and Fallout 2 are my favourite RPG's after Planescape: Torment. You could say I'm somewhat... passionate about them Hi! Thanx to you and your guide, I just finished Fallout 1 and am installing Fallout 2 at this moment. I am very excited to play this --- the first one may now be my favorite RPG ever! I am curious about two things: First, what exactly is Fallout Tactics? Is it a separate game or an expansion or ??? Second, what patches need to be applied? I went to the No Mutants Allowed site and there seem to be a lot of available patches. Thanx, as always! I know in advance I'll get what I need here!!

Atheen Fallout Tactics is a squad-based, third-person tactical combat game rather than an RPG and was less well recieved in the day BUT as always some people liked it just fine. Its so cheap now as a bundle its worth giving it a go and seeing if you like it.
Its not up to the other two in all the reviews I've read, but if you go into the forums you find people playing it and having fun.

You can find Metzo's writings on his own website here. Nipomo, I believe you just took over as having the best edit reason.

Are a couple of people playing fallout now? I've just started and it would be fun to be in a thread. I've dinked around outside of vault 13 and gone back in and started talking to the people inside. I might actually change my charector slightly and restart as its only a bit of playing and I sorta understand things more.
At first I was taken aback by the retro game screen and play, it actually took awhile for me to see the writing that was my charectors reaction to everything but now that I've played for several hours I love it. I love the way my female charector flips her knife while I'm plotting my next move. Its also the first turn based game I've played.
My question is, if any one is playing, is it useful to take water from the supply lockers in vault 13 and should you only take a little as one of the NPC's says.....will it harm the vault people to take it all? That's one of the reasons I thought I might start over, I just took all the supply's out of the lockers before I talked to someone who said "I could take supplies but try to leave them some as that's all they have". I have greedy habits from Divine Divenity and Oblivion (I've become a loot lover and that's all there is to it).
Its sure fun to be in a new world. So far the only bad guys I've met is rats.... arggg rats...I never liked them in Oblivion even if they were easy to kill, they give me the creeps.

Thanks Ameno I'm still getting used to where everything is on the system, I think I picked up a quest to go to a meeting about a group of people talking about leaving the vault. I'm going to do some reading of the surprizingly thick manual (ah the old days!) that came with the game at lunch today and teach myself how to track quests.

Oh yes. Longtime fan here. I remember playing the demo of Fallout 1 and loving every second of it. Then when the full game was released, I was in awe. And Fallout 2...do I even need to mention all the things that made it so good? That game sure is huge. I spent many hours and nights on it. Unfortunately, faster computers make the game go much faster when travelling on the world map, and since the game engine has a time limit of 13 years (for some reason), it also ends rather quickly, even if it is enough time for you to finish the main plot.
Rather buggy though, but there have been patches released, both official and unofficial to fix most issues. Still, one of my favourite game series of all time.
Heh, they could make Fallout 3 with this game engine instead, and I'd still buy it! I really like the interface and isometric 2D-perspective.

Are they dead? Yes. Unlike you they have but one life...and they wasted it for your sake!

I'm having fun with the turned based fighting, at first it seemed awkward, but now its kinda fun to plot out my best move and see what the bad guys do. Course my NPC pays absolutly no attention to my brilliantly thought out stratgy. "Gee boss look, 3 guards paying no attenion to the fighting...Guess I'll stroll over and get them involved"
