Hi Sig- thumbsup

Yes, I go into the first aid stations all the time, get my abilities up and check everything. I have found the doctor on the second go around, I am so glad I did not mess it up for you. Yes, I agree, it is hard to stop, but with the new problems, he changed my medicine after 18 years, so it is not easy to go through and I knew better, it is sometimes I do not think wisely. And at my age I sure know better. If using the trainer, which as you know I am, what hot keys can I use, I can use F2-F12, right or do I need that many??

Take care and talk to you later. And a Toodles to you too!!!!! rotfl rotfl

maggie think wave

P.S. I have the original Harvey still alive and I like him better than the others. yay happydance

Oh, I didn't know that you somehow missed encountering Dr. DeSoto in your first playthrough. The game let you proceed without finding him? I'm a little surprised at that. On the Quick Key bars, Seth's go from the main 1 to 0 keys (not the Numpad 1 to 0 keys), and Harvey's go from the F1 to F9 keys, but keep the F1 spot clear, so you don't inadvertently deactivate the trainer---F2 through F9 are safe to use. These controls are listed on page 7 of the manual. By "Character" they mean Seth, and by "Robot" they mean Harvey, and, of course, they don't mention not using the F1 key, so as not to deactivate the trainer. lol GameBanshee finished their walkthrough just in time for me. yay I'm about to get into the Zeus Engine Control level to rescue the good doctor again. It's nice to be needed, I guess. smirk Tally ho and sally forth!

Edit: I finished it and will certainly keep it installed to replay at least one more time. Oh, again Maggie, there's only one Harvey, but I think I know what has you confused on this point. Is it his changing weaponry? The game auto-switches him to his latest weaponry when you pick these up (just like it does for Seth), but, whereas you probably know how to change Seth's weapon (you do, right?), you might not know how to change Harvey's. This can only be done at one of the Workbenches in the Aid Stations. This is one of the things that should be in the manual, but isn't, but the GameBanshee walkthrough mentions it. Another good tip not in the manual, but mentioned by GameBanshee is Shift + Right-click to force-fire on something Seth won't normally attack. This would be useful if, say, he's out of grenades, but there's some of those destructible, non-highlighting crates you want to bust up before you get to the next Aid Station. Okay?

Hi Sig- bravo

No, I am fine with weapons with both Seth and Harvey, just have not found a new one yet for Harvey. Thanks for the information on the keys to use, that is a big help and I changed it all around.

I know I will play this game many times, so much I have problably missed, the first time through I used a tram i could not use again, don't want to do that again unless I have to. I am so glad you are at that part, I quit just before Zeus Engine, walked miles and miles and never did find it, the one tram that would take me there was locked up, it was the one I had locked up and could not unlock for some reason. duh

Have a great weekend, stay out of trouble, don't let the big guys get you, they look like they have quite a bite........... rotfl rotfl oops

Hugs

Regarding Harvey's weapon upgrades, in the levels where there is one, that mechanic guy, Frank Murphy, will radio you about it, after which its location in the map you're on will be marked with one of those blue exclamation point Secondary Objective markers, so use those to help you find them all. I favor Harvey's Repeater Rifle arms---what about you?

That happened to me, too . . . leaving one of the levels (I think it was Transit Center: 2nd Visit) and got a warning message like "You will be unable to return to this region." I think there's no way to avoid that---just the way the game is structured. Keep referring to the in-game map as you go, and be aware of things like all the doors you open stay open, and there's a lot of doors in the game that are just dead scenery---might as well be a wall section. In other words, they're trying to make this huge spaceship seem even huger, and, if they can disorient you in the process, well . . . you just made their day. In this game, there are even rooms on the map that are actually non-existent, and stairs that lead up to nothing.

The tram that was supposed to take you to Zeus Engine Control was locked up? Had you saved Dr. DeSoto from the aliens so he would go to Med Center Delta? Because that's who you were supposed to rescue on the Zeus Engine level, so maybe he wasn't available to be rescued again? think

Hi Sig- grin lol

No, I was not able to save the good Doctor and since I wanted to start over with Seth as all human, I just took it off and started the game over, I could of saved time and started it over, but I was tired at the time and not thinking. I recieved an email from The Witcher today with more screenshots of the newer one, I hope to have it by the end of next week.
I never got a new weapon for Harvey last time, remember I got him killed by not using his trainer button. This time I will look for Frank, whom I have not found yet, hunting for the main transit area to put the tram back online. Yes, I agree with all the doors we can't use, they are trying to make it look really huge, and it is confusing to me at times.
Be back to the game Sunday, on Friday's and Saturday's John and I are always gone most of the time as these are his two days off.
If Harvey's repeater rifle is his first weapon, I like it, don't know how different it is to the other one. I am surprised more people are not playing this game. Although we are giving lots of hints, so maybe they do not need us. It is 93 here this evening at nine p.m., I think I should send you some of this heat, how is your weather there? I sometimes really miss the changing of the seasons........ headscratch

Take care

Yes, Harvey starts out with Repeater Rifle arms (which get upgraded), then you find his Napalm Rail Gun arms, then you find a Force Beam Rifle he can use. Yeah, you'd think the forum here would be a-buzz with people playing this. Is anyone else out there playing this? I had to start a replay right away cuz it's that much fun---at least with the trainer. Keeping Seth 100% human this time. I hope people aren't put off by some bad reviews, like GameSpot giving it a 5.0. Ouch! For what it is (essentially an isometric, sci-fi shooter), and with the good trainer and GameBanshee walkthrough, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Oh, Maggie, I noticed something in my last session . . . when you go up or down an elevator, have Seth step off of it before checking the map, because, if he's on it, it'll look like he's off the map---that is, the map will just be black around where he's at. And pay attention to which way he's facing in the game, if you want to get a good map-check on where you are. And we're having some of that good "Goldilocks weather" in Michigan right now---not too hot or too cold . . . it's just right. lol

Hi Sig- wave bravo

I agree with you on the game, I also would give it an 8 out of ten, thumbsup thumbsup don't know why more people are not playing. You watch when we all get the new The Witcher Enhanced, we will all flood the forum like last time. I also like this game, it is not a traditional RPG, but also not a traditional shooter, which I am glad of. Scenery is great and love the action in it.
Thanks for the advice on the elevator and the map.
It is 90 here this evening, suppose to start cooling down soon, but still have the air conditioning on all the time and I have five huge ceiling fans in the house which helps the electric bill and moves the cool air around. At least it is not 120, uck, I always dread those hot, hot months.
I have not played the game in several days, been playing Loki as it is easier on me and I know my doctor is going to yell at me. But I am going easy, I think it is just the medicine change.
I will keep the game on, even when I put on The Witcher when I get the new one, as I sometimes get bored and change games.
I am glad your weather is so nice. I really miss the weather around Halloween the most and the farms to go to get all the pumpkins, fresh cider and apples. happydance

Take care

Could be some people are waiting for the public release date of the good CheatHappens MegaTrainer (the day after tomorrow), but we can recommend their Lifetime Unlimited Membership, right Maggie? It's well worth it.

I could take issue with some of the complaints about the game in GameSpot's review. Like . . .

"Tedious" - You mean if you're not in God Mode and dying 500 times in the course of the game, right?

" . . . the Armstrong is a drab and boring place. Each new area that you encounter looks strikingly like the one before it, some combination of gray and metal." and " . . . the dull color palette leaves a lot to be desired." - What about those walkways with the pretty purple indirect lighting, and the green grass and trees in the Atrium level (not to mention the man-made lake), and all the orange spaceshipey-looking walls, and all the freight elevator platforms edged with yellow "CAUTION" paint. I dunno, what's your favorite color? Anyway, it's a spaceship, not Alice in Wonderland.

"Cybernetic upgrades feel insignificant" - How's that, when a third of the skills in the game require these, as do 2 of the best weapons in the game?

" . . . if Space Siege featured an explosive combat system . . . " - Don't even get me started.

Ah, yes . . . Halloween-time in Michigan. The farms with all the pumpkins, cider, and apples (caramel for me, please), and, while you're there, how 'bout a Haunted Hayride? yes

Ah Sig- grin thumbsup

You really make me homesick for the midwest, John and I both grew up in Indiana, him in Auburn, Indiana and me Crown Point, Indiana. I love Carmel apples, nothing better. And the pumpkins, you could buy lots and make a splash of color by your front door lighting them all up, such fun.
I think I have to give Gamespot a piece of my mine, they give the best games the worst reviews and then these awfull games come out and they give them great reviews. Okey I understand a lot of people like the Sims, but give me something like Space Siege any day, the ship is not boring or look alike at all, so many, many different areas, I wonder if they had a newbie do the review??
It is so frustrating that none of these places pay any attention to any of us at all. Unless you own a game company you are useless to them. We buy the games, spend our good money and then all they do is trash a good game. Wow, that was good to get it out of my system.......
I agree with you 100% in everything you said. By the way I tried to download The Witcher Enhanced and it will not download or rather it will not go on, only took 18 minutes, so very fast, but they say there is a problem with the certificate.
Hope you are having a great weekend, it is quiet here, John is watching CSI and me, well, here I am talking to you as usual. Take care my friend. My favorite color, well blue, but I loved all the colors of the ship, I think they did a great job.

Hugs

Yeah, I mean . . . I like GameSpot for the most part. I keep it bookmarked to scope out PC games I haven't played yet, and to download patches from and such. But when I see their reviewer scores like 5.0 for Space Siege or 5.4 for Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna, I'm like "Wait a minute. That ain't fair." And there's always that nagging thought at the back of my mind . . . "It's easy to be a critic. Lemme see what you can come up with." Anyway, I'll leave this go for now, after saying one more thing . . . Turns out I underestimated something I said in my last post . . . It's half of the skills in the game that require cybernetic transplants, which, of course, makes them even more significant.

Don't know what's up with your download version of The Witcher Enhanced. I'll be getting the disk version when I get around to it. Oh, my favorite color is blue, too, but I was rhetorically asking the GameSpot reviewer. They had me wondering "What colors were you lookin' for? Magenta? Olive green? Something with metal flakes in it?" lol

I have Gamespot bookmarked too and look at them alot. I mostly order from GoGamer or Amazon, I like the service and nothing has ever arrived damaged. I do wish their reviews were more fair, but then I am not a tech and not a reviewer, I just know what I like.
Got the game The Witcher Enhanced today and put it on, goes on very easy, lots of discs and three booklets.
Yes, I agree with you on the colors of the ship, maybe they were looking for wild colors, but I like all I see in Space Siege, do have to admit wish it were twice as long, so I will be glad when they come out with an Expansion Pack or Space Siege 2. I would like to see a story where they land on a planet, not earth that can hold life and start fresh, that would be interesting if Aliens popped up wanting to get us off their planet!!!!!

Take care

Space Siege looks fine to me, too. On the subject of color in the game, and for those that haven't seen it yet, a lot of the good visuals in this regard are lighting effects, like indirect colored lighting on surfaces and various illuminated design elements. Playing it with the trainer's Invisibility option, where you can take your time with it and there's not a constant barrage of fighting on-screen, I see a lot of good-looking screenshotey moments that I'd like to share with others, but do we have a forum where I could post links to uploads of these? Mixed Bag? I'm all for an expansion or a sequel, too, Maggie, and I like your premise for it. yes

Thanks so much l4l, great idea. thanks

Thanks, L4L. Turns out this game doesn't have a screenshot key slapforehead , but the Print Screen key might work, right? I should at least try to get a few pic links up, cuz I'll probably be done with my replay of it in a few days. Gonna keep it installed for some time to come, but a 3rd playthrough would be after trying Legend: Hand of God and The Witcher Enhanced.

To Maggie - I'm going slow and thorough like I did the first time through it, but not needing the walkthrough this time. I like to (basically) play the whole game with just Seth and the trainer's Invisibility option (as well as its Health, Energy, Super Speed, and Instant Cooldown options). As you know, there are 2 times that the game constructs Harvey to be with Seth, both in cutscenes---when you first make him and then "the other time," later on, which I don't wanna have to use a spoiler tag for. But I don't activate the trainer's Harvey Health option, cuz I want him to get (temporarily) destroyed, even though I like him, cuz the Invisibility option doesn't work for him, so he'd be setting off mines and triggering turret pop-ups and Fabricators and everything else. I also "resurrect" him for the 3 big boss fights in the game, even though he just hurts them a little before getting destroyed again. The way I like to think of this is . . . Harvey'll start the fight, and I'll finish it. And yes, I just found something new in the last session, another mistake in the game---namely, in the Astrogation level, there is a small room which should be drawn on the map (at the lower-right corner), but isn't. Not a biggie, just weird. Add this to other weirdisms like there being 2 areas designated as Crew Quarters B, and the Aid Station symbol being in the wrong place on the Med Center Delta map (kudos to GameBanshee for correcting this on their map).

I have the worst problems getting to Crew Quarters B as there is a locked door. Right now I am playing The Witcher, but am still playing Space Siege too, breaks it up. I really agree with you on the color, I think it is just great and they did such a good job. I did not find a second Harvey, will have to check that out and also the room that is not there.

I think some of the screen shots up would look great and then more people would try the game, I really think some of the poor reviews have hurt it, yet I see no reason for them.

Take care and talk to you later.

Big Hug to You

Maggie, check your print-up of the walkthrough for guidance, but, about the locked doors, they become unlocked after you do certain things, and, in a lot of levels, there's a locked door near the transit car when you arrive that's unlocked after completing the level to allow for convenient return to the transit car. Nothing important in that unmapped room I mentioned in the Astrogation level, but go ahead and check it out. And it's not that there's a 2nd Harvey . . . without giving away one of the game's nice surprises, lemme just say that something happens to Seth in a cutscene and, whether or not you have Harvey with you at the time, he is featured in the same cutscene and is with you when it ends. Yeah, critics . . . for starters, they need to quit pickin' on Chris Taylor, don't they? lol

Yeah, L4L, the Print Screen key worked. Here's the first batch of screenshots. Forgive the cropping---it took me a while to realize that, to avoid this, my Paint program needs to be closed in-between pastings from the Clipboard, though I don't know why it starts cropping them in the first place.

Do you remember what certain things I have to do to get the door to unlock?? Also the tram is offline and having trouble finding how to put it online, forgot from last time.
Love your screen shots, they look great, yes they do pick on Chris and I wish they would stop it.

Oh, the New command at the top of the File drop-down menu? I was just doing a Clear Selection in-between pastings, but I'll try the New File thing. Not a biggie cuz Paint opens nice and quick.

Maggie, I would need to know exactly which locked door you're talking about in order to help you, and, about the tram being offline, whether it's the first time or the second time this happens in the game (and, btw, they get resolved in 2 different Transit Centers). You may find it quicker and easier to just refer to the good GameBanshee walkthrough and annotated maps, but lemme know if you're still stumped. wave

Sig- grin

The tram is the first time and the door that is locked seems to be the one to get me into the crew area B.

I will check gamebanshee and let you know.

Thanks

Okay, that helps some, but remember . . . one of the boo-boos in the game is that 2 areas are designated Crew Quarters B. Here's what GameBanshee says at the top of their Medical Center Delta (Upper Level) page:

"Note: The quest log and the information signs will indicate that you should call this map Crew Quarters B, but you’ve already been through a map with that name. If you save your game here, the interface will call this map Medical Center Delta, and so that’s what we’re going with."

Here's another screenshot from the session I just played:

Thanks for the help on that, those drones by the way after I got Harvey always wanted to kill me. Do they do that to you???

Screen shot is great, my new speakers work great, went out and bought a new set of Logitech, small ones but the others broke after 4 months, the new ones were $19.99 plus tax, but really nice.

Take care

You mean the Sanibots, right? Those small, yellow flying saucers with the robotic arms picking up litter? If so, yeah, it's normal for those to attack you if you're with Harvey. As some of the Data Pads allude to, there's some kind of robotic rivalry going on between the Sanibots and the HR-V personal security robots. I trust you don't mean your Combat or Gunner Drones---those should only be fighting for you. Don't forget about the trainer's Invisibility option (the Numpad 9 key)---I really like it, but it doesn't work for Harvey. Have you got the hang of using Seth's and Harvey's abilities with their Quick Key bars? Hope so. I just finished my 2nd playthrough, this time with Seth 100% human. Will play it again in a few months or so, and take some more screenshots. Here's the last one until then . . .

Shoot those cylinders to blow up the minefield
