Yes, I mean the Sanibots, they always attack. I like the Data Pads, get lots of information from them. I am going to use my number 9 key tonight, keep forgetting it. No, have never gotten the hand of the quick keys, it is just me. How did you like it playing him all human compared to the other, did you like it better?

Take care

Oh, Maggie, you gotta at least use Seth's Quick Key bar (with the trainer's Invisibility option activated, it's more like Seth's "Take Your Sweet Time" bar). That's all of his grenade-throwing and deploying of Gun Sentries and Combat & Gunner & Bomb Drones, as well as his Shard Storm ability, which is good to use if he's surrounded by those crab thingies, especially with the trainer's Energy option activated, which lets you tap the Shard Storm key 2 or 3 times in a row with no reduction of his energy. A Bomb Drone wouldn't make for a very good screenshot, but they're good in practice---they're like a red ball with robotic legs, and, if there's an enemy in your vicinity when you deploy one, it'll quickly walk to it and detonate itself. And, regarding the Combat Drones, part of their adorableness is how they attack something---it just looks like they're bumping it repeatedly. I don't know how they're supposed to be hurting baddies like these, but they do pretty good damage. You'll love this stuff---it'll make the game twice as good. All of his throwables are good---lemme just cover one of them, the Fire Traps, although Fire Mines would be a better name for these . . . When thrown, these look like small, red, glowing spots, and, unlike his other grenade types, which bounce a little, these stick where they first hit. They're good to use if a group of enemies is milling around or patrolling back and forth, which there's a lot of in the game. When they get near it, it beeps a few times, then explodes like an incendiary mine, setting all the enemies afire---and take note . . . fire damage is not reduced by armor. I know you can do this---it's easy. Tell me what it is about this that you don't get and I'll talk you through it again. And yeah, I'd say I liked keeping him all human a little better---you get a little nicer cutscene at the end. But there are some advantages to doing all of the cybernetic transplants.

Okey, I will use them, have tried to throw granades, read the information, throw them and they dissappear, so I am doing something wrong. You are so good at this game, I think I need to get down to one game, I have been trying to do two and I am going to stick with this one this time and finish it, even if I have to restart it.
No wonder I have been doing so bad not using that key, did not think it was any good. Guess I will learn, the hard way.

Thanks for the help. Talk to you tomorrow.

I am confused, # 9 says Alien Mind Warp, how can that be invisible, of course I am still having trouble understanding this game. That is one of the reasons why I like it and Chris did such a good job. I have the same problem with the first Dungeon Siege, I was a mess, I bet it took me six months to get through it.... rotfl rotfl

Don't be confused . . . "Alien Mind Warp" is just what the trainer-maker calls it. To speak plainly, it's a Seth Invisibility option---the same effect as the "notarget" cheat code, for games that have that. And don't worry . . . Harvey will still follow you, and NPCs will still respond to you, and escorts will still run along with you.

As linear as Dungeon Siege actually is, it's easy to get lost for hours in certain regions, partly because the map is so unhelpful. Space Siege is actually more straightforward, even though its map could be a little better, too.

About this "Quick Key" using (also called Hot Keys or Ability Keys or Action Bar Keys---don't let that confuse you either), I'm like you---no good with the quick hitting of these keys in normal usage. That's why I say that, in Invisibility mode, with or without Harvey, you can do this, and you will like it. About the grenade-throwing, put the yellow mouse pointer where you want him to toss it, then tap the key that has some of these assigned to it (changeable by you, of course). Have you been busting all the big, destructible crates as you go? Some of them drop upgrade materials and/or hide baddies inside them. This can be done by shooting with his force-attack (Shift + Right-click), but grenading them is better. Lemme know if you're still not clear on something, or how you like their Abilities when you finally get to use them. wave

Oh, forgot . . . here's one more screenshot that I took, but didn't think was saved:

Seth in a spacesuit for the Gantry level

Good to hear, Maggie. Just so you know, if you don't already, the game automatically puts Seth in and out of a spacesuit when he zones in and out of the Gantry level, so don't be looking around for where they keep the spacesuits. lol Have you tried Seth's Invisibility option? Have you tossed some grenades yet? Let us know how you like that, okay? Of course, a lot of the big crates and stuff are non-destuctible, but you'll see what's what when you do more blowing up of this and that . . . like you're supposed to. lol Fun stuff.

Edit: I started a 3rd game of this, just to play while my copy of The Witcher Enhanced is coming, so here's another screenshot that debunks the "drab" criticism:

A portion of one of the long, curving, purple-lit walkways

Yea, the hallways are sure great looking, not drab at all as the reviewers say. I wonder if they even played this game.
Have not been playing for the last two days, have been visiting doctors and have more, so will be a few days. It is beyond my control.

Of course, the . . . uh, "technology isn't there yet" to build a Health Module in real life, so here's something that's probably do-able . . . Start putting an option in games where a player who is concerned about seizures can choose another color to replace any red, flashing lights in the game, similar to the option where you can turn off the red blood color, if you're squeamish. And when was the first time I ever heard that this could bring on a seizure in some people? . . . Back when the movie "The Andromeda Strain" came out . . . in 1971. The Wikipedia page about this movie says "When filming the scene in the movie where Dr. Ruth Levitt has an epileptic seizure due to watching a blinking red light, care had to be taken when choosing the frequency of the blinking, so it was the least likely frequency to induce seizures among the theater audience." So it's not like this is a recently-discovered phenomenon. smirk

I agree with you, in the last couple of weeks I have had over 500 seizures, I have been having tests and have another one next week. I love the colors, but I too saw the movie that you saw and agree, I love Red, but I know it can harm me. I once got into an auto accident, about 20 years ago due to the same thing, it was red and yellow, lots of lights and then all I saw was red and was like in a trance and we got hit.
Thanks l4l, I am taking care and trying not to play too much. I have to wait till after I see my Neurologist again next week, he was just on the phone to me and put me back on my older medicine, which works better. I miss the game, but know how to play it safe.

Yikes Maggie, I had no idea.

Sounds like you need to do a letter writer campaign to educate computer game makers--it sounds like it is something easily worked around.

Take care.

I had a bad accident when I was 20, and I was sober too, rotfl fell down a long flight of steps, hit the right side of my head. At the time I woke up thought I had just broken my ribs. But four months later I found out different. Actually few people do know. I have never considered myself disabled, although I am considered that, which is silly. When I have good times, it is legal for me to drive, with the approval of the state of Arizona and my Neurologist. I have not driven in over a year, I know when not to.
I like your idea of a letter writing campaign and think I will take you up on it. I can write to all the ones just a simple letter explaining. Like I said, I love red, but when it is flashing it can be a killer for me.
My doctor changed my medicine today and I should be fine again in about four months, takes that long for the change over, as it has to be a long process.

Thanks so much for your good thoughts. catrub

500! Four months! Both those numbers take me aback. Glad you're back on your previous medicine---that should help. Yeah, maybe a letter-writing campaign to game developers is the way to go to get something done on this issue. All they've done so far is put that seizure warning in the manuals, to cover their liability, but how 'bout putting an option like I suggested into games, so people can play them without this happening. If they can't change the color of static scenery lighting like that, or have it replaced by wording, like "LOCKED" or "ALERT," then just stop putting flashing red lights in games altogether. Can they do that?

Here's the latest screenshot:

One of the many freight elevators in the game

Sig- thumbsup thanks

I have complained for years about flashing lights, sometimes the television is the worst, but some of the games are bad. When they start to bother me, I stop playing, I have not finished many games due to that. Yes, I am glad to be back on the old medicine. Thanks for your care and concern.
Love the screenshot, your really getting good at it. I see you are playing through again, is this your third or fourth time now?
They can stop the flashing lights, but we are considered not important enough, but lets face it, they are popular and I do understand. I am very carefull watching all the Demo's I can to see what will be a problem.
I have been playing Loki today, I still like the game, hope they come out with a new one and hope the company comes out with a Space Siege Expansion Pack, that would be great.

Take care

This is my 3rd go-thru of Space Siege, Maggie, though I'll probably break away from it when my Witcher Enhanced gets here. I checked on photosensitive epilepsy and it turns out you're in a fairly exclusive club, though I suppose it's a dubious honor, huh? It just seems like something could be done about that in this day and age, but I don't know what. I like my idea about a game option that lets you change red flashing lights to either non-flashing or another color or just words, but, not knowing anything about programming, I don't know if that's feasible or not. Another idea was a screen filter that changes or eliminates or even just grays out the color red, but my web check for that just found a bunch of glare filters and privacy filters and magnifiers. I hope you don't have to give up on it, cuz I think you were on the verge of doubling your fun with Seth's Invisibility option and all the grenade-tossing and everything. Here's a suggestion you can use: There's a lot of those red, flashing, "ALERT" computer terminal screens in the game, so destroy them all with grenades or whatever when you first enter a room. This would be easily done if his Invisibility option's activated (Numpad 9 key), and, if you get low on grenades and don't wanna backtrack to the last Workbench to make more, you can use his Shard Storm ability to destroy these consoles (I like to keep this assigned to the main number 1 key). Many of these consoles will drop upgrade materials for you when destroyed, but there's a cheat for that, too, so Seth will really be destroying them all because they bother you, which is kinda nice. wave

Thanks for looking that up, it is nice to know I am not wacky, like I feel sometimes. Yes, I will destroy all the screens I see. Yes, I do really like your idea, I will have to check to see if there is such a screen, I can check my doctor, I see him Monday and then also check Best Buy and Circuit City and Fry's Electronic's.
You mean your game has not arrived yet, maybe it is coming by Mule Train. rotfl rotfl Sometimes some of the places ship so fast it is amazing and other times so slow, I will never understand.
Hope you have a nice weekend, only a day away, John and I always look forward to it. At 71 he still will not quit working fulltime, says it would be boring.
We are going to Laughlin, Nevada towards the end of October and spend some money on the slot machines.
Thanks so much for all your help, nothing like a good friend. Thanks again.

Yeah, you'd think by now they would've come up with a computer screen filter that does that one seemingly-easy optical thing, but no? Not the Epilepsy Foundation, or AARP, or Microsoft, or some PC game developer, or MIT, or some home-based inventor, or one o' those household gadget catalogs like Sunset House or Harriet Carter? Not yet, huh? Instead, we get silliness like this . . .

Computer garland

Gee, thanks. Oh, I think you could also use Seth's Fan Shot ability to destroy those red "ALERT" consoles if you want to conserve grenades. And my Witcher Enhanced is coming from GoGamer via Priority Mail, but it didn't ship out till day before yesterday. I'll probably get it tomorrow. That's the real answer, but I kinda like the jokey one, which is . . . "No, uh, Pony Express, and I just did a shipment tracking check and it said he changed to a fresh horse a couple hours ago." lol

Hi Sig-

Well, there is nothing better than a fresh horse!! rotfl Maybe it will help. The Garland is a hoot, gee it would be nice if they think of something helpful. My game came first class mail from there, but arrived very quick. I will use the Fan Shot also to get rid of those red screens.
