In case you're not visiting the site, I thought I would let you know they've come out with several mods for the Witcher game that you might want to play here including "Poet's Pride" and "Deception". I haven't played any of these yet, but would love to hear if you do.

A mod is something that modifies (changes) the existing game. Sometimes it is a new adventure, sometimes a different suit of armor, just about anything you can think of. Or it can even take something out of the game that was annoying. More and more developers are welcoming this input.

I would like to ask a question also concerning the main character Witcher. Ok here goes the dumbest question of all time but I can't find the answer from what I am reading. Why is he called the Witcher? Is he a witch? You would think he would be called a warlock if that was the case. I saw witcher enhanced preview and WOW is the video graphics like that through the whole game? It looks like a movie you are in control of if this is the case. Does the origional witcher have video graphics? Do I have to install any patches to play the origional Witcher demo? Thanks in advance to whoever answers these questions. Sherryah

Sherryah, no question is dumb. According to Wiki, witchers are monster-hunters who receive special training and have their bodies modified at an early age to provide them with supernatural abilities so they can battle extremely dangerous monsters and survive.

You can download the demos without worrying about patches. The patches were mostly an effort to avoid the long loading times between scenes. I don't know what scene you saw - possibly the beginning sequence where he is fighting a monster with a chain? No, the whole game isn't like that, but the graphics are very good anyway. The original and the enhanced really aren't that much different except that the loading times between scenes are much quicker on the enhanced (even going into a shop took a long time on the original). If you get the original, you'll need to be sure and patch it. If you get the enhanced retail version game, you don't have to patch it.
