Today's game for BFG club members! Bought it. smile

I couldn't find a demo available anywhere (it's a very large game -- 1 gb) so I hope it works on my laptop. If not, I can always try it on another computer here.

Tomorrow's game but very very large!! Almost 1gb.

So I googled to see what it is and cannot find it.

Must be an adventure/mystery but can someone give me a link please?

Thanks,
Linda

I only played a few mins but it's FMV (with 360 panning) which accounts for the huge size of the download.

Finally got it to play after deleting Avast. Avast found a trojan and it wouldn't install. Now I don't have AVG or Avast.
Took about a hour to download.

Waiting impatiently for feedback. Anyone start yet? Is it more like a casual game or adventure game? How are the mini games? Are they arcade like or puzzle like?

So many questions...so little time.

Crime sines aren't really clear but kind of fuzzy. I like it. haven't gotten to any mini games yet. Not really that hard.

I downloaded the trailer for it from http://www.casebookthegame.com/trailer.html

It seems more like an adventure than a casual game.

The FMV is nicely done, but I think some may have problems with motion sickness when searching the rooms -- you can tell by watching the gameplay portion of the trailer.

They say it's "episodic," but hopefully each episode will be a complete case.

Downloaded it, but really not sure I like it. The image is kind of fuzzy, and the camera motion is well, giving me motion sickness<g>. Its hard to get back to the menu once stuck in a crime scene.
I will finish it, but its not going to be a favourite. I haven't got to any mini games yet

duh I d/l it and could not get it to run. I removed AVG as it was telling me there was a Trojan Horse, and it still would not run. Went on to BFG, and their instructions were to check my video card driver. I updated that = still no luck, so I am waiting my turn for a response. I think they might have slipped up with this game. Too buggy yet. think

This is my second time downloading this game. The first time took 3.5 hours, and it looks like it's going to be the same this time.

I messed up, I think, when I told AVG to fix the Trojan problem. The game wouldn't open at all. Not sure if it will this time. I shut down AVG, hope it works.

I have never had that happen before with any game I downloaded.

It's amazing how it took 3.5 hours to download and 3.5 seconds to uninstall lol.

I hope this game is worth it.

Why can't I find this thread on the front page? I get it by going into the merged post.

Flo

I had to do more than shut down my antivirus I had to delete it before I installed the game.

Well, the 2nd download didn't take either. I got "error downloading".

I'm going to try one more time, if it doesn't work then, I want my credit back.

kjos, I guess I could uninstall AVG and Defender, they are both free anyway. Did you do anything with your firewall? Once the game is downloaded and working, can you install AVG again or do you have to wait until the game is finished?

Is the game worth all this trouble?

Flo

PS Thanks Ana, I couldn't figure out where the thread was, but found it afterall.

I'm getting an error that says WIC component must be installed to run this game. Try running one of the installers with the game. Has anyone else got this error? If so, what do I do? I did email BF as well, but thought I would check here as well.
Thanks

Barbara

I downloaded it and it took about 17 mins and then it played just fine. Not too exciting of a game but it was ok. Finished it in about 2 hrs. Have fun all Trisha

I downloaded it and got the AVG Trojan warning. Uninstalled and downloaded again, this time got no AVG warning. This time I got the WIC message so downloaded WIC from Microsoft and installed that. Now the game works fine, so far. BTW, I made sure that BFG is on my list of Firewall exceptions.
Sure hope this game is good, as I spent most of yesterday trying to get it to run and haven't actually played it yet.

SlyOne - I got the same message about WIC component missing. I sent email to Big Fish and they replied that I needed to download this and gave instructions to do so. At that Microsoft screen were listed about ten different choices and said 'download the one appropriate' .... duh? I didn't know which to choose so just started with first one. After a few tries, I realized the file name extensions indicated language, so I picked the one that look like english. Bingo, it worked and the game is playing now. Didn't have to re-boot.

Only played for a few minutes to check it out. Takes some getting used to - very different from anything I've played before
