There is an interview posted on Adventure Classic Gaming with Chris Jones, perhaps best known to adventure game fans as Tex Murphy. The interview includes a lot of details about the rise and fall of Access Software as well as some detail about his new game project (with Aaron Conners) Three Cards to Midnight:

http://www.adventureclassicgaming.com/index.php/site/interviews/389/

More information about Three Cards to Midnight can be found at:

Enjoy, especially for Tex fans!

Thanks for the link.
What was said there brought back old memories of my gaming experience and answered questions I had as well. I remember when I found I could no longer get any new Tex Murphy games I was really disapointed. More so than any other game I ever played. Back then I could hardly wait until the next game came out. It's easy to see from that interview that these guys really cared about there fans and they felt as bad as we did not being able to bring us any more games. I feel they may be back on top again in a very short time. In the mean time I have all the old ones and an old computer w98 to play them on.

Hi, David!

What a wonderful article, and thanks so much for posting the link. For those of us who loved Tex Murphy, it's wonderful to read that there is a glimmer of hope he will rise again at least one more time.

Thanks, Susan.

One caveat Chris has said is that his new game project must be successful in order for him to get enough captial to consider developing another Tex game.

Strangely, he did not acknowledge or deny that he still holds the IP to the Tex Murphy series, considering Access Software had been to Microsoft and then subsequently to Take2.

Anyone knows who holds the IP for Tex Murphy now?

A very interesting interview! Are adventure gamers really equivalent to Disco??? (How many Disco albums released last year?)

Hi, David!

I'll be making my contribution to the "Bring Back Tex Murphy Fund" because I definitely plan to buy "Three Cards to Midnight" the minute it's released laugh !

Hi, Becky!

I think a lot of gamers were in their prime during the Disco era. In fact, I still have my "Saturday Night Fever" album grin !

Hi Susie -- I combined your stacked posts. I actually enjoyed Disco, right up to the end. lol Maybe that's why I liked adventure games too?

I just checked out the website. It says the game will be available this month. Has anyone heard when exactly? I didn't see any place for pre-orders.

Hi, Becky!

I've been here long enough to know I shouldn't stack posts. My bad oops !

I can't say that I actually enjoyed Disco, but I did enjoy "Saturday Night Fever", and watch it again whenever it's on TV. I believe there was at least one sequel that didn't go over quite as well, though.

I think my love of adventure games stems from my love of puzzle books (and Nancy Drew books) when I was a kid, and I also love murder mysteries.

Susan
