Hello Boomers!
I really love adventure games that have free movement in a virtual world as, if I recall correctly, the last three Tex Murphy games had. Tex Murphy also includes full motion video but for me that's not essential. For example, again if memory serves, Normality is an entirely animated game that has free first-person movement.
Those examples are the only ones I know of.
Can anyone suggest others?
Thanks tons! ~Raj
P. S. - The kind of movement I am talking about is what one finds in First-Person Shooter action games (FPSs)and some Role-Playing Games (RPGs), but I am interested in ADVENTURE games.

Myst (real myst, riven, exile, revelation)games have the first person movement. Aura, too. Barrow hill, as far as I can remember... If I remember some more, I'll let you know.

Thanks Iva!
But from your list I've played only Barrow Hill and Riven and both of those, although First-person indeed, still use a node system where one moves from one place to another along a specified path.
I am looking for free movement where there is no specified path but rather one can move anywhere in the play-area. (Not through furniture or walls or anything, of course, but freely around a room looking for clues or hot spots to click on).
I'll have to check out Real Myst, Exile, Revelation, and Aura so thanks muchly for those leads!

There's free movement (first-person) in Sherlock Holmes: the awakened. I hope someone else will be able to help you more Too late, this time. Rushes, there's free movement in dreamfall, but it's 3rd person as I recall.

Thanks Bernard and presto!
I've never looked into Dead Reefs but I played Conspiracies ages ago and totally forgot about it. Thanks for bringing it back to mind!

When I played Journey to the Center of the Earth, it didn't have free movement -- though Frogwares has been updating their games, and it's possible that has changed.
Auryn Quest has free movement, though it's an older game and it has lots of jumping challenges.
RealMyst has free movement.
Penumbra: Origin and Penumbra: Black Plague have free movement.

In URU you could move 1st person "pushing" the mouse and holding down the mouse button. You would roll the mouse in the direction you wanted to go and you would keep moving until you let up on the mouse button. And of course turning the mouse turned you also.
Rather than using arrows or pointer. This was an amazingly fluent way to move about particularly in wide open areas.
I really liked the area around Zandi's trailer using this movement mode in 1st person.
