I turned the firewall right off, so it was not that.

There's no choice for switching to a different server and I'm out of ideas at this point.

I'm waiting on further word from the official support for the game.

Do you know what changed?

I had to uninstall and wipe my registry of anything associated with the game.

I re-installed and ran the registration and it went through!

I believe you will find it is well worth any problems. My game even crashes to the desktop but I just watch the map and when it turns black hurry and save and exit. Others have this problem at the forum and I haven't seen any explanation yet. However any problems I have it is well worth it. Have fun Templeton.

Hi Maggie, I never have a warning when computer will crash and windows says it quits working. The windows error appears says its trying to fix it, of course it can't because it says Witcher game has stopped responding. I hit cancel and crash to desktop.

I can play for many hours sometimes and no crashes. Other times I can crash several times in one hour, sometimes in a half hour. There is no warning except for the map will turn black right before the crash.If I catch it quick enough I can save and exit. Other times it won't save my place because it was losing memory and I didnt' know it. I save alot more than the average person because of this. You are very fortunate your not having to deal with this.

I learned to watch for this sign in the witcher forum by others this is happening too. I have witcher enhanced and did no updates. What graphic card are you using Maggie? I have Nivida 8800 GT and using Dell Desktop with 3 Gig of ram. Top of the line computer. So I know that is not the problem. I hope someone will find out why this is happening.

I remember when you got that great new computer, Sherryah. Mine has crashed once or twice. Last night I was playing for a couple of hours and I forgot to turn off my anti-virus auto update. All of a sudden I'm being returned to desktop and there is an update going on. What you might try doing is doing a clean boot which only loads the necessary stuff and see if it works better that way. Many people here at GB only play games after a clean boot.

I'm sorry you're having a problem with the game Sherryah. Mine runs flawlessly, although it crashed a few times with the original.

The game has crashed on me a couple of times too - and it locks up my machine when it does crash.

Good job it is only a very "now and then" happening
