Braid is a great platformer made by independent game developer, Jonathan Blow.
It combines platforming, puzzles, and great game mechanics together with some really awesome 2D visuals that make up some of the finest artwork I've ever seen in a game.
I don't remember exactly when it's supposed to hit PC, but it's been a ginormous hit on the Xbox Live Arcade. I purchased it and it's still incredible to me.
The story is unmatched, but it is NOT linear, nor is it a story that you can just take as-is. It's symbolic, and requires quite a bit of thinking to understand completely. Even then, you may not get it all.
It's probably hitting PC's sometime soon, so when it does, I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wanting a good game to sit down and play when they're bored of everything else.
The dread of evil is a much more forcible principle of human actions than the prospect of good.

I looked it up Here and the screenshots are awesome for a platformer. I'll have to catch my son this weekend and check it out on XBox360 Arcade since he has access to that! Ana

Is it in this months issue or a previous one? I have them all here, I'll drag it out and read. Ana

What's a Platformer?
That's ok, I just found out. It's like a Mario Brothers type game. Not my forte at all.

I do not usually like platformers, but this one is different!
If you have the Xbox 360 you can download a free demo to find out whether you like it.

According to GameSpot.com, it's supposed to hit PC's in the first quarter of this year. No actual release date has been posted yet, but I expect within a month or two.

AWESOME!!!!!!! When I saw the previews for this game and some of the screenshots, I actually, for a moment, went out to buy the Xbox just to play this game. I am so excited that it's coming out on PC. I hope it's as good. It looks like a great, great game. Thanks for the information....greatly appreciated. Barbara EDIT: Sorry Ana I didn't see the possible release date in the link you posted....probably cause I didn't read it all.... Let's us know what you think when you've had a chance to play. I, for one, would be iterested in your take on it. Thanks.

Well....the truth is, I am still all thumbs when it comes to playing platformers but I watched Peter play this afternoon and he ended up buying it shortly after starting. He quit playing for a bit so he doesn't finish all at once, but he said it had a lot of unique features in it that makes it a keeper. Ana
