Carol - now it is my turn to show how stupid I can be lol

Yesterday had to get a technician to help install this game. So it is up and running. In anticipation of starting the game some day I got a local firm to copy the manual into A4 size. It has come out rather dark and there are still parts I cannot read, especially the small icons, even with a magnifying glass.

On page 12 there are two sections - A/In the upper left corner (of the full game screen I assume) is a portrait of your character with information notification.
1) The red bar shows the current health of your character.
2) The green bar fills up with the experience your character has earned. When it is full your hero/heroine gains a new level.
3) A small number in the circle to the left shows your character's new level. (I've been trying to discover how to level up grin
4) a blinking cross here shows you have unspent skill points.
Sooo.....where and how do I spend them? This reminds me of the Witcher, and I never did get the hang of that. rotfl

Part B on that page concerns the map - my trusty magnifying glass may be able to cope with that if I send the manual back to be printed in black on white.

One more thing - am meeting characters who just want to talk. There are several tiny icons - am guessing which you click starts the conversation needed. Haven't yet held a conversation headscratch

Thanks in anticipation that someone, somewhere enlightens me. kissy

Thanks, Nickie!
Yes, everything is fine now. I just went back to complete that quest. I just didn't go far enough when I was there the first time. As they say, you always learn something new all the time.

Reply to Threads. I too had to get a technician to help me with the install of this game when I had the new Graphics Card installed. Since I am not technologically minded, I need all the help that I can get, especially at my age. Sure hope you enjoy this game as much as I am.
Talk to you guys again, especially when I get on another game after this one. I have The Witcher to play yet and I understand that is another long game.
Later.

Hi, Threads!
In answer to your question about distributing unused points. I just put them into where my strengths to be. Just click on the teeny triangle in the right bottom corner of the strength you have chosen to increase (Strength, Stamina, etc.).
In the bottom part of that screen, just choose which attribute you want to increase and click on that teeny triangle to do so. I am not the smartest person to tell you which attribute you should choose. I just do what I think will help me in the long run. As for choosing which lore to pick, it is up to you. I chose Sword Lore, Shield Lore, Constitution, and 3 more (I can't remember right now what I did chose). It is all up to you. Just remember that you have to click on that teeny triangle on the right bottom corner of each attribute or strength to increase it. Hope that this answers your question satisfactorily. If not, I will try to explain it better.
Later.
Carol

I'm BACK!!
I have a couple of more questions. How do I get into the city of Dyr-Laigh on Green Island? It's part of the Main Quest.
Also, where do I get the quest of Christmas Island which I have been reading a lot about? I haven't come across anything to do with this island.
Thanks for any information you can give me.

Mammu, Oldman provided a great link in the other thread for a walkthrough. It's only partially completed, but I saw it does have stuff on the main quest and something about Christmas Island, saying the quest giver is Christmas Island Kobold, does that make sense? Here is the link.

Thank you, Nickie!
Just to let you know that I finished the game as a Seraphim and never did find the Kobold for Christmas Island. I am now playing the game again but as a Shadow Warrior. His Main Quest and Chain Quest are different but the Side Quests are pretty much the same. I don't play a game twice even on different levels of difficulty but I enjoyed this game so much that I decided to play as another character.
Thanks again for all the help that you given me so far.

That's great Mammu! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself so well you're playing again with a new character. Now that's getting your money's worth! Can you tell yet which character you like better?

Hi, Nickie!
At this point, I think I like the Shadow Warrior better although both are very good. I actually like playing a male character better.
Now I have another question about the Christmas Island quest. Is there something or someone else that triggers seeing the Kobold in the Thylesium Port to start the quest? That Kobold is not there so far in playing the Shadow Warrior either. I never did get that quest playing the Seraphim because that guy never appeared in the Port. Sorry to be so stupid but this has me baffled.
Thanks for your help.

You're not stupid in the least. Were you able to find the ship captain with the steering wheel over his head?

Maggie I'm not sure what your question is. There are a lot of other places to go than where the orcs and elves are. You just follow the colored triangles on your mini-map. Especially the orange ones.

Maggie, the orange pointer shows you the direction of the next step in the main quest and the blue pointer shows you the way to the active side quest. You can change the side quest any time by clicking on a grey circle on you main map or on a quest description in your log book. What I usually do in a new town is to collect as many side quests as possible. Then I check the main map to see where they play out. I try to do all the close ones before I venture further. So I click on the circle/quest whose location I favor. The active circle enlarges a bit so you can tell it apart from the other ones. The only thing that messes up this system is when I get an escort quest right off the bat. I prefer to leave them until I've cleared out the area a bit. I've lost too many escortees.

You make perfect sense to me, it has not before. I know what you mean about escourtes, I have had two guys with me forever, who want to learn how to kill deer. I do not know how to get rid of them. Thanks so much for your wise answer and help. Appreciate it.

Hi! Loony4labs!
I would put this game up there with Diablo and the Gothic series and most of the other really good RPGs. I just read today on Gamebanshee that there may be an expansion to Sacred 2. Bring it on!!! Can't wait.
Thanks again for all your help with this game and all the others I have needed help with. Your guys ROCK.
Carol
