Thank You, Perry

Very Informative....I have to tell you...I like what I seen in that video...

I personally don't like a lot of idle chatter ...I think this game leaves a lot to the imagination...

Looks very "Creepy" also...

Thanks for the videos, Perry and Jon Costa. They look quite nice, actually. Those were some fast conversations in the second video. lol

I'm the opposite of Darleen in that I like a lot of character interaction. I'm hoping that there will be more, at least with Vic's part of the game. I know it's probably unlikely with Paloma, as her goal is to get out of that house.

But the game still looks quite interesting to me in any case, and I have to get it to see who the killer of the original Still Life was if nothing else. wink I'm not expecting it to compare to the first game, but hopefully it will be good in its own right.

Also glad to hear the reviews you read were good, Darleen. That's encouraging. smile

Thanks for the videos! Graphically the game doesn't look too bad to me. It certainly isn't incorporating any advanced effects seen in a lot of modern games, but the texture work appears to be well done, if a little flat. It still seems to capture the gritty atmosphere of the game. One thing that definitely could have been better is the character models. They look very blocky and dated. They're about on par with the characters in the first Still Life game and that came out about 4 years ago. The graphics won't necessarily matter to me, though, as long as the character's are interesting and the story's intriguing and exciting laugh

The idea of only having a certain amount of slots to carry items and having a static "item box" to put the rest of your findings into is very familiar to anyone who has played the old Resident Evil games. I've read a few articles on Still Life 2 suggesting that it feels a lot like a "survival horror" game in parts, which is the same genre as Resident Evil.

I'm holding my breath, hoping for this game to be good. I've never expected it to live up to Still Life, but hopefully it's worth buying nonetheless.

I read so many different opinions in this thread.... I myself i will buy this game cause i liked the first one. Now i'm most concerned about the inventory part cause i don't really enjoying walking a lot in games. So this one will be a nightmare for me. About the conversation part i don't mind if there is no other people in it. Let's wait for the english demo and we will see.... wave

I haven't bought or played the game. But i was very interested, and looked at the german threads about ist. Here some comments:
There are a few timed sequences. You can even get hurt and die.
Someone said it it like "Saw".
Click to reveal..
A killer sets traps for his victims

During the game you get more and more informations about "Still Life 1", so you have a conclusion of part 1.
It is 15 hours long and very suspencefull.

I watched the youtube video and the graphics do not look good, however this could be result of the video itself. Also looking at the screenshots posted by Darleen03 one can notice that the rendering of the bodies and, more obviously, heads of people seems to be missing some more work. Check the head of the man wearing a suit and red tie, indoors.

This alone however, even when disappointing, doesn't mean that the game is bad. I'll wait until some reviews on the English version are available to decide if I want to play it or not, I wouldn't like to buy the game just to know who was the killer.

The first game i played twice it was one of my favorites games and i have waited long time for still life 2 .

Sorry to say but they just ruin the game in every espect .

Hi Perry-Rhodan, thank you for answering. Have I got this right -you played the game for 5-10 minutes? I'm sorry, but I don't see how that gives you enough experience of the game to comment on fairly. Okay, you might immediately notice features that you don't like but I do feel that you have to play for at least an hour to see how it all works. I don't see how you could possibly know that a game is 'ruined in every respect', & comment on lack of dialogue on playing for such a short time? It's very unfair & potentially damaging! Thank you for the video links. smile

Why are some people saying things like :

"I don't expect the game to be as good as the original Still Life"

Is there some obvious reason (that I'm missing) why it wouldn't be ?? woozy

Isn't it amazing how some people are capable of playing a game, for a little amount of time and in an language they don't understand, to come up with demeaning critics like Perry did? headscratch

Well, Still Life is one of my favourite adventures of all time. It's going to be hard for any game to live up to it in my eyes, and what I've seen of this sequel so far doesn't seem quite as high-quality as Still Life did back when it released. So I guess it's just my impressions of the videos and my gut instinct.

I'm not writing it off, though. I'll still probably buy it on launch day and just make my own judgment of the game. I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up.

I agree.Based on the visuals I've seen on this thread, It looks good!I'm curious to see how the English version will look, if there are any changes or not.I do hope, however, that there will be a retail version instead of download only. I would rather have a retail version. I'm very weary of downloading games, giving credit card info to strange websites (sites I've never dealt with before, or don't trust).I also base this on all the drm trouble downloaded games seem to be having lately, regardless of where the trouble originates from.If I buy a game,& want to play it again, I should be free to do so, however often I wish.I'm not trying to disrespect anyone, & apologize if it appears that way, it's just a personal opinion.

Chaos, as I stated here a bit up on this thread, there will be a retail boxed version.

If all goes as planned I'll get SL2 within the next few days. As soon as I've got it and played a decent part of it, I'll post my opinions.

playthrough of an early chapter in HD, may be considered as a spoiler
although this gameplay is seen in the trailers as its early in the game
view at own risk lol
