That made all the difference in the world. Now I'm able to pan with my mouse which is what I was looking for. Thank you so much. I'm wondering around the dungeons under the temple now looking for Oracle stones. If I ever find one I guess I'll know what they look like. Game is getting more enjoyable as I get used to it.

Yes, I must admit, I didn't realise at first about the RMB as well, and found the camera very frustrating without it.
Oldman, you are not looking for actual stones now, but for golden pieces of a statue. They sort of hover in the air above platforms in certain rooms. Watch out that you don't come too close to those stinky amoebas, as they tend to cause fear in your mighty warriors! I took them out with one guy as a tank, and my other people doing ranged shots.
  Enjoy!

Thanks again Moondancer I'll be on the lookout. I've already died once when the amoebas ganged up on my party so am being much more cautious now. At least with the auto pause I'm able to regroup and plan a strategy.
Those that like the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/NWN etc type games should feel pretty comfortable with this game.

Mad when you first start playing it defaults to a normal level and it has an option for expert which I didn't select so I'm not sure what that does.

Hi, that "expert" option is to re-assign your avatar's stats in a manner that you prefer. It seems that with "expert" they mean that this option is for people who are already well-versed with the rules of how the game's stats work, and want to fine-tune/tweak it to their preference. Unfortunately, it seems that the game has only one default difficulty setting, you cannot make it easier. There are not options for "cheating" with code either. So you either have to get a trainer or bite the bullet, it seems. Luckily, I like a challenge, but I must admit, that from Moorbridge onwards, the game did start to get rather difficult for me combat-wise. And let us not even mention the boss-rat deep under Ferdok... I decided to shelve that one for a while, as appararently one can come back to the rats under Ferdock at any point in the game, which I might do right at the end...

Hi oldman What does a "save game editor" do that would help with combat ?? In fact - what IS a save game editor, anyway ?? [I'm too scared to even install this game, now ]

Well maybe learning how to use one just for absolute emergencies might be useful ?? Although from the sound of things I'll definitely be having more than a few of those !!

Mad, most of them are just fine. It's a good idea though to keep a back up save before you used the editor. We didn't know that using an editor could cause a problem, so we were having fun til son told us to watch it and the very next day our game locked up. Loaded a save from way before the editor and quit playing around in the game files

Hi Could anyone please advise me if there is a good "free" one I can download for use with XP (or Win98SE and XP) that isn't madly difficult to use ?? Cheers. Mad

Mad you can get one at Cheat Happens here. You may have to join but you don't have to be a paid member to get the save game editor. The 32 bit will work with Win XP.

Hi - And thank you both I've downloaded the right one now. [What a dope I am !!] Mind you, that's nothing compared to what could happen when I try and use it In case you don't already know it when you open the program you have to click on load. Then browse to the save game folder which for XP is My Documents/drakensang/profiles/default. It took me some looking the first time.
