Just tried to download the demo and got a download time of over 5 hours! Anyone else tried it?

Carla, thanks for the info, and Chief, thanks for the download suggestion. Using filefront only took 15 minutes. Started playing a little while ago. Have to break for dinner, but it looks really good so far. This is definitely my kind of game.

lexxy, I can't say about Dave and pre order, but about the time to download, it depends of course on the connection you have.

I have cable high speed connection and no download manager.

And it took 15 minutes to zman (do not know of is connection).

But the demo is worth the time it takes to download.

Thanks, Carla. I started downloading the demo earlier today but didn't have time to wait for it, so I'm downloading it now. No matter which site I use, it's going to take three hours for me. But I'm sure it will be worth it.

I have had this on my list since the first time I heard that there maybe a 2nd Secret Files . So as soon as Dave at Interact has it up for preorder I will preorder it. Waiting for May the 8th .

Okay, I've had a chance to play some of the demo. The graphics are even more beautiful than in the first game, and I love Nina's new voice. The mystery in the game is very intriguing as well. Really liking it so far!

Since demo is around 1GB and it took only 15 minutes for you to download that would mean that you can download with over 1MB/sec. With 600K/sec it takes less than 30 minutes. FileFront is better for download but even first German link is around 350K/sec or just under 1 hour of download.

I will try again as I have been looking forward to this game for so long. Ana, it's nice to know that Dave is working on it and I am sure he will come through for us as he always does.

Now THIS game is georgeous.

Has high res as i think its full 3d but in 2d style which is cool with me. Also has up to 6x AA which makes it look even better.

Tho only thing is that i have a powerful computer and should handle this easily at max settings but their is some lag with the mouse for some reason I think its their software mode cursor thats causing it. If it was hardware accelerated that would have been nicer.

Edit - Hmm first crash, looked at sickbay then tried entering it then crash to desktop with unknown error message box.

Nobody have trouble installing it? I get the busy curser for ages then BOOM! the BSOD. Using Vista.

Beautiful screenshots, Skeeter! As for your settings, hm, my computer allows me to turn on the anti-aliasing up to 8X, and I had no lag at all. I still have XP. Perhaps it's a Vista issue?

Well, I finished the demo and loved it! It looks to be even better than the first game, as there have been some definite improvements - Nina's voice actress, the zooming screens for conversations, and the translation seems to flow a bit more smoothly. The story looks to be very exciting as well. If possible, I'm even more excited for the full version now!

I too use xp, i dont want vista just yet tho i do have it dual boot setup if i need it.

Btw can u test something. If you enable more than 2x like 4x aa does the very begining of the first intro movie when you launch the game go a tiny bit weird but when you use 2x or off it plays fine? Just wondering as its a weird issue i have tho its just a intro vid nothing really about the game just the makers.

I forgot to mention that there is one major flaw in the game, well to me anyhow, which is lipsync or lack of. The lips do not corrispond to the speech that is spoken at the time. For a game developer to put so much work into this game which is clearly seen due to gfx and the quality of art etc and to not do lipsync is a terrible injustice imo.

Skeeter, I tested it for you, but did not experience any problems with the intro movie. Does the rest of the demo work fine for you with the aa turned on higher?

Its fine when im playing, its just the main menu the cursor lags alot its probs cos of the movie playing in the frame of it with the ppl switching. I get that in st legacy too till i put mods in which disable it.

Well I finally got it to work. It took over 10 minutes from when I double-clicked the installer to when it started installing. Must have been VERY tightly packed. Anyway when I ran the game and got to the game menu the mouse response seemed very jerky, in the game though it`s nice and smooth. The graphics look fantastic and show what can be done with a bit of effort (Still Life 2...ahem). Story seems intriguing, nice music, really looking forward to this one now.

If its correct, it seems like the full game Secret Files 2 will be released on PC, and also on Wii and on DS. I wonder if the Wii and DS will also come out on May 8th as posted first on GameBoomers?

Agreed, they could have gone a lot further with SL2.
