Not Beyond Time flotsam although a good guess. smile

I'm not sure if the game I picked fits the rules of this thread. It's actually a casual adventure game. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to use that type of game. But we're here now, so onward smile

Next clue...

A village of people
They must know something
Yet no one is talking
Til I find that one thing

Katbear would like to pass on doing the next round. So I will be passing it on to another willing player. Is anyone up for the challenge?

The overwhelming number of volunteers made me decide to take up the gauntlet. Another little text adventure with some clues hidden within. This time the clues won't be in italic though! grin

Being a private investigator, your current employer asked you to search for his missing wife. Earlier clues led you to a house in the outskirts of a small town. It seems there's nobody in the house. The door is locked tightly.

There's a doormat with the word "WELCOME" imprinted on it. The door is to the north, there are exits to the west and the east. To the south you can see the car that brought you here.

So if the clues aren't in italics, we're supposed to guess which part is the clue? No fair...

Why am I thinking that I played this game a long time ago, back in the Sierra days? Never finished the game though, so not willing to take a guess.

To love is to be happy with!

Is it Shivers? I'm thinking of the "Welcome" song in that game.

Shany, you have to look through the eyes of a seasoned detective, there will be lots of red herrings! It's up to you and the other players to come to a logical conclusion.

>Inventory

In the pocket are just a torchlight and an ID card.

>check under mat

There's no key! Instead you find a small tile, it looks like it's a part of a slider puzzle. There's a partial of an image on it, but too small to recognize what it depicts.

It's sunset, the sky in the west has the colour of the lava of an erupting volcano. Pretty soon it will be dark and the moon will be the only source of light.

After rubbing the tile on the doormat a few seconds, you look at it again. Nothing really changed, just the image has faded a bit. It's probably better to not repeat that action, the tile could be important later in the game.

Wow, there's a mirror on the ID card, you see yourself!
Bummer, it's just a photo of you. The other details that can be seen are the integrated chip and the social security number.

It's time to move around a bit, if only to stretch the legs.

After moving a few steps you're in front of a window. It looks like it's closed firmly, maybe it can be opened some way? Using the torch you can see a book on the table in front of the window. It's a very thin law book.

There are exits to the north and to the east.

>look at inventory. A tile, torch and ID card. Recall that you once saw a book in a window in a Gabriel Knight game.

Reject that and wander north to what looks like the Chapel.

Wandering to the north you notice the chapel is months away! However, you see a place that could be a crime scene! The darkness of this night obliges you to use the torch light.
You see blood stains, a photo and another tile.
There's just one exit, to the south.

The photo is the depiction of a Secretary-General together with actress Candice Bergen, now what does that mean?
Combining the tiles is not a big success, too few tiles and no frame to put them in.
There still is an exit to the south.
