Wish I had know that earlier Drac. I'm not going to go back and redo. I guess I will bypass that chest for now and see if I can get past that darned troll. Don't know how many times I have tried.

Bets

Well, I figured out how to get past Bert. When I get to where the leaves are, I get caught each time.

Flutist did you save after getting past #1 Troll and the chest? Or you still haven't gotten that particular chest? I will go back to a save and take a look at the chest. I didn't find that one hard, once I remember to use the correct key, maybe yours is one of those that blow you up, if so bypass it. As for the troll I didn't use my stick jump, just sneak, hide and run.

For Tom, my grandson showed me, he even got the pink gem which I didn't bother to do. You sneak up and hide behind the rock, to each gem point, when he goes the opposite direction, run, then hide again, do not step on the leaves he will hear you. You sneak to the last blue gem, then run and grab green and pink ones and the bag. When I tried to sneak the last ones, I got caught every time, though Draclvr didn't.

I tried to get that big pink gem this time, but finally gave up.

I just went back and did that chest again. I did get blown up twice, but I had enough red bubbles to continue. Make sure that you have all your bubbles full by passing over mushrooms before going back to the area. I don't know how I was able to save after the first troll/chest cause this time I couldn't get back to the pedastal.

Kids are unreal about those things Drac, he just ran out into the clearing, then backed up through the opening in the rocks and hid again. I went crooked and got caught.

I don't see any mushrooms and I don't have any keys. I'm wondering if I am at the same place you are. I am blocked in by the rock slide. I can sneak past the first troll then jump up the rocks and get the blue crystals. At the top is the red crystal and nearby, the chest. Go toward the chest and get the cut scene of Bert. Wait till he quits scratching his backside then run up behind the stump. Wait till he moves away if he doesn't hear anythin then pole jump to the blue crystals. That is usually where I get caught. Once tried to sneak through the pathway with no leaves but got caught. And that is where I am.

The only pedestal I see is the one way back.

And that is the only pedestal you have in this screen.

Are you using the special pole jump - a combo of CTRL/W/SPACE? I don't think a regular W/SPACE will do the trick quickly enough.

It is the same place but I was confusing you as the purse you have to snatch is past the yawning troll. I went into the segment with five full red bubbles, couple of times I did the chest on the first try, but usually I lose one or two bubbles. So if you start out with enough you shouldn't die on the chest, in mine there was a bag of silver coins so you could skip it.

I didn't have any problems before the chest, just run and crouch, approaching the chest closer triggers the cut scene that makes Bert move to the back scratching place, so you can run up to that area and hide right behind him. As soon as he stomps, run up and grab the run and blue crystals, then hide again, behind the rocks. Next step is getting past Tom, I will go back and see what I did, cause this time he caught me. Once past this, the yawning troll is easy, then you have to sneak run again till you can grab the purse.

If you don't have enough red bubbles, you could go back to a save and find mushrooms, earlier in Roast Mutton, before the rock slide there are lots of them.

Meanwhile I keep dying falling off the moving pedestals over the waterfall. I just can't seem to time it right to grab the rope.

Edit here: After you get past Bert, you need to run and hide behind the next rock. If you do it right, then Bert will change direction and you will be able to sneak past the sitting troll, Tom and not get caught. You still have to do it while Bert is facing away though. After you do that, none of them will see you there are more crystals and another chest you have to jump up to get to, got this one on the first try, amazing. Then you can save as there will be another pedestal before you attempt the purse snatching.

Yup, I just went back and did it again. At the big stump, the second Bert stomps, I stick-jumped to the red crystals, turned and stick-jumped to the blue crystals behind the rock. I waited for Bert to stomp back in the direction I came and then crouched/sneaked past the sleeping troll. Got all the crystals on the pedestals and opened the chest. At the save pedestal by the yawning troll, I did find a bag of money off to the side that I missed before!

Any advice for the moving platforms over the falls? I can get as far as the last one, nearest the green rope, but just can't seem to time it right to grab it. Am I trying for the wrong one maybe, I know I got past this part on my first play.

Have you jumped to the right to get the big key and then to the other platform with the crystals? I think I was able to jump back to the last moving platform and then grab that green rope to get to the other side.

EDIT: Just loaded up a game at that point and, yes, after getting the key and the other crystals, I jumped back to the last moving platform and jumped for that green rope and got it.

Is the key in the falls area or back where the platforms are still? If it is there, then I missed it. I must not have paid enough attention to the cut scene. I will try again after I get something to eat, thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the "tornado" looking moving platforms over the falls in the Troll-Hole? Maybe I'm in the wrong place...

That is where I am jumping and falling to my death. Do I need to cross over to get the Wizards Key or is it back where I came from.
I saw the key in the cut scene, but now don't remember. Maybe I should look at the scene again.

When you get to the last - and smallest - moving platform, look to your right. There is the huge key on a platform which is too high to get to from anywhere else.

I finally saw it but haven't been able to get to it yet. I went back down and walked across the rocks above the falls to get stuff there and was able to jump across using the rope to get the big white crystals, but......

I have been able to get to the third moving tornado platform but do I actually have to jump upwards to get onto the last two? So far I haven't been able to make it. Maybe I should try the controller, for some reason you can jump higher with it.

I used the CTRL/W/SPACE stick-jump and had no problems at all. Guess I should put it like this - W then a combo of CTRL and SPACE all almost at the same time.

I got the key, I first used the controller, then stick/jump, went back down, then outside. But......I somehow didn't do the cave with the spider web across it as it wouldn't break. I do not know how to even get back to it, hopefully I won't have to go through all this again. So I am going to start prepping dinner cause I have to do a soccer drop-off at 5:30, then come home and put it in the oven. Maybe then I can look again.

Try checking out the waterfall near the beginning while hanging from a rope. Lots of goodies in there!

Draac, I am seriously thinking of going way back to one of my earlier saves. Now that I know more of what I am supposed to do. I don't have a manual, just the quick reference card, as I bought my game from someone on GB. I only have 2 and a half red bubbles at top left and that may be part of my problem. What do you guys think?

Woo hoo Kat, good for you. I'm just gonna stay with my keyboard

I'd highly recommend it if all you have is 2 1/2 health bubbles. I just checked and I have 5 of them just before I started the Roast Mutton part.

I don't have a manual either. The Read Me is on the disc, but I don't know how much help it is.
