What other games do you use it with? Any adventure games?

Bets

Every action, RPG or FPS I play, I use the gamepad. The only ones I don't use it for are the point and click adventures. The only ones where it wouldn't work were Grim Fandango and Lemony Snicket. And that's only because the in-game options don't give you the option to change your action keys to the ones you want.

EDIT: Well, I remembered wrong about Lemony Snicket. I was able to set all my options the way I want them on the gamepad. Sweet! Plus, I can add this game to my list that plays perfectly on Windows 7.

I decided to do a replay since I don't want to get too far behind. Back to sneaking the Trolls, I got a nasty chest this time and it ate three of my health bubbles. I went back to my save and got it without losing any. I am finding way more stuff this time and went into this chapter with five bubbles and found all of the silver coins in the first segment.

Wait for me...............................!

Don't worry, Hawka, you'll catch up! And more health bubbles is SUCH a good thing for later in the game! I'm trying to stay way ahead so I have plenty of saved games to refer to. I'm in Erebor now trying to solve that waterworks puzzle.

I went back around to the cliff/pillars area and found stuff I missed the first time. There are more of the dragon/snake things behind a waterfall and two chests. I actually got all the crystals hanging about that I was scared to try for last time. So now back to the boulders and wolves, but first I have to go to the store. We have visiting company of adult grandson and daughters boyfriend, they are eating me out of house and home, but they sure help alot with the work on the property.

Edit here: I got through the boulders but have to look for the gears now. Basically I just ran, dodged and jumped wherever I was headed (hiding on the upper vines, the lower ones by the cliff don't protect you). I used the sword on the wolves as I found staying still to use the firerocks got me smashed. Keep picking up the mushrooms as you run to keep health up of course. I also went back and saved after killing the first wolves so I wouldn't have to repeat that part, after that you start getting too far from the save pedestal. When I needed to take a breather I would go way back into the caves and hide. There are some breaking vines you have to cross, you have to be fast, just jump, grab and jump til you are on solid ground. There will be more wolves along the way, eventually you find a weak place and the ground will break, spiders down there, use your stick. You just have to be fast when you are on the ground, this is a long ways between saves. I was running so much I almost fell off the cliff edge, good thing I didn't cause I didn't want to go through that again.

Good luck!!

Grandkids both have their first soccer games today, I will be back later. There is still alot more of this level after the stone giants. I don't remember it at all, but then that was a long time ago that I was playing.

Got through the first round of wolves. Now I am in the cave. Crossed the bridge and it broke. I guess those are spiders on the ground.

Woo hoo, I got all the gears. yay

Well, I thought I was through finding gears, but I was wrong. Trying to find the firewood now. Can't find my way across the water.

Last night I found all the metal gears and fixed it, but yonder I saw another chest, went looking for it, found it but lost my way getting back to the bridge to the tunnel. This section has been easy, but I do manage to fall into the water a lot, getting way too brave with those jumps.

The only thing I did differently, l4l, was not mess up on my jump! I did give up on a big pink one on the first spiral staircase in this area though. I just died too many times!!

Ah, but you haven't fought the Witch-King's minions nor the Witch-King himself! Make sure you have a couple of Waters of Vigor potions for those fights!

eek I just started Riddles, hopefully they are later on, I vaguely remember them from the previous unfinished play. I just spent all my coins so I hope I have a chance to buy the potions before I meet them.
