I am going to have to start buying games on line and I am not happy about it. Walmart, Best Buy and GameStop are the stores in my town that sell PC games. The space designated for PC games is getting smaller and smaller and it takes forever to get the new games in if at all. The console games are taking up more and more space. It makes me nervous to buy online as I have already had someone fraudulently use my credit card to buy things on line. Thankfully, my credit card company called me and told me what was going on. I need to know from my fellow boomers how they feel about buying games on line. Has anyone had any problems? I know there are a lot of websites to buy games, which sites are preferrable? Thank you for your input. Eileen smile

PS: I have bought games from Billy and not all worried about the independent game sites.

InteractCD is a great place to get games. Dave is excellent on quick and reasonable shipping and he has great customer service.

YOu can access him through the button on the top of the forum.

They only trouble I've had buying things online was with ebay sellers and in both cases ebay refunded my money (through paypal). I've had no problems buying games online.

o1alien,
I agree with you on chain stores. Wal-Mart, is the only store in my town that sells games. InteractCD is great as BrownEyedTigre said. Buy from Dave to support his business.
I also buy games from Amazon.com, were you can even find ones that are out-of-print.

Hope this helps,
Adam

I also buy from Interact with great results. I have bought from e-bay with no problem as well, I just look at their ratings and usually buy from Great Britain.
I receive games from Interact in one week and from e-bay overseas in 2 weeks.
Our box stores here in Canada stock things very slowly and like you say, the store shelving for PC games is shrinking all the time.
GoGamer seems to have great games and prices for you US customers. Doesn't ship to Canada though, darn cry

Thank you very much for your input, it makes me feel much more at ease about buying online. I will give Interact a visit. I am in need of new games immediately...lolol. I thought Big Fish was all HOG's? I will also visit Adventure Games. Thanx again. Eileen smile

Eileen, you can download lots of new Adventures Here on BigFish for 6.99 each.

If you do not mind downloading, The Adventure Shop is a trustworthy site also, and you can access that on the top of the forum also.

o1alien, my bank has a special visa card (internet visa) which is always empty unless i put some money in that specific account from another account through an e-banking system or actually going to the bank. So i can sit from home and transfer money from my normal account to my internet visa without having to visit the bank or even leave the house. Even if your card number is stolen it's useless as the account is empty until you transfer money from another account. I am sure your bank must offer some similar service for security. I never had any problems, i recently changed banks as my brother got a job at another bank so i had to support him as well, they have a similar system although slightly different.

I'm near a Target, Best Buy, and a Walmart. I find that the Target has an extensive PC game section along with console games (Playstation etc.) It's larger than the Walmart, about same aas BB, and has a good selection of $9.99 games

They're also VERY good at marking games down to get rid of overstock.

Don't know if you've a Target nearby?

Dear forest animals,
I've been singing for over an hour, where are you?

Target is definitely the leader in my book, too, when you're talking major retail chains; I saw The Omega Stone in there the other day for 10 bucks, which was a nice surprise!

I gave up on local retailers stocking PC games a few years ago. I used to frequent the local EB Botique in our mall but little by little the shelf space for PC games got smaller. I have been buying games on line for years and never had a problem. As mentioned above Interact is my go to place to purchase games. Dave is fast and very appreciative of your business.

I also found that the local stores are not carrying much Adventure games by me...

So I resorted to ordering from Interact....Its cheaper in the long run...By the time you travel to this & that store ...I used about $ 10.00 in gas smirk

I've seen a lot of excellent games re-issued in the $9.99 jewel case format at Target. Every time I see one I wish I didn't already have the more expensive version sitting at home, so I could buy it again for the first time.
