No, the chasm when I first fight the ninions. I have not gotten to the gate yet, I'm not anywhere near trees yet, at least I don't think so.
Edit: I just took another look. I guess it is by the water. It looks like a big water wheel and there is a ninion across the way throwing rock bombs at me.

You don't go across that big chasm; you jump up on that huge log and go across to the other side. Watch out for more minions! There should also be a rope hanging down to the left of the big log. You can climb up for a big gem in a tree.

I got through that sequence and there was a save pedestal.
Guess what just came. Now I gotta get used to it. Will try it out on an older saved game.

Ooooo, what a difference. This is sooooo cool. I wonder if it will work on Alone in the Dark. I never finished it because of the keyboard. I might enjoy Divine Divinity more too. Then I have Outcast which I have not played and also Runaway. American McGee's Alice, which I have played and loved it and Undying which I have played twice.
Do you keep yours plugged in when you are not using it? Mine has a light on it.

I thought you might like it! It's opened up a whole new world of gaming for me. If a game has options for setting the keys, you can make it work just exactly like you want it.
Mine is plugged into the computer at all times. I love the little blue light underneath.

It is cool isn't it Flutist, I use mine on the laptop now since I have the Merc keyboard. My Merc's left side looks like the Cyber Snipa, slanted that way also, just the keys are somewhat smaller. What I like about the Merc is that the keyboard letters, numbers etc are lit up, choice of red, blue or purple.
I haven't dealt with the minions today, woke up in the middle of the night with a headache and couldn't go back to sleep. I have had a headache all day (I rarely get them) and had to take the long trip to Costco. I think I am coming down with a bug, yuck!!
Edit here: Flutist, how did you deal with the minions, did you run and jump, hide or something else? I know Draclvr said to off the archer first, but he kills me rather quickly.

You definitely need all your wits about you to deal with these guys. If you use a Waters of Vigor, Hawka, you will usually get enough time to finish him off with the fire rocks. Then I just fought and bashed the rest. The blue ones are much easier than the other ones, so I try to get them first.

I tried once last night and did manage to kill the archer and, I think, two more, then I died. I wasn't feeling up to par so I didn't continue. I used the sword whack that I used on Mama Spider. Back to it again tonight.

You wait until the enemy is just the right distance, then you jump and hit at the same time - space + left mouse.
Ferris wheel??? Where in the world is that??

I finally got across and got to a save pedestal. The ferris wheel is what I call those thingies that you jump on that take you around to the next one. Reminds me of a ferris wheel.
I didn't get the sword. That was before I knew how the keys workded on the chests. I'll just do without it this time.

Now that I think about it, it might have been in that area before going to Corwin's camp. I remember seeing one of the scroll like things, so went and investigated. You have to do alot of jumping through the trees, lots of gems there too. I don't think I had it before either, I wouldn't bother going back for it either, but maybe Draclvr knows different.

Ah, the floating rafts. I died a gazillion times there too! Make sure you climb up into the trees with the rope near the save pedestal to get all the goodies and the colored balls for the gate puzzle.
You got Sting at the end of the troll hole quest. Since I'm using the defaults for the gamepad, #1 is the stick, #2 is the rocks, #3 is Sting and #4 is use a health potion. Using jump-sword is a tactic with it. You will get a scroll to make it work even better, but it still is much more effective even without the scroll.
You can also use the jump-stick attack which works quite well. But you should bring out Sting for these guys. And you will definitely need it for the Wight-Lord after you solve the puzzle to open the gate.

I was able to get to the fire stones and defeat everything in that area then lost it all because I didn't have a skeleton key. Stupid poison chests. Now I gotta do it all over again.

Curses! Which chest is it? Because if you get that far again and it's doesn't have anything critical in it, I'd leave it. Those horrid minions are just too darned hard to defeat!

Lets see. There is a save pedestal then I jump on the moving thingies that go around then jump on the one below it then jump down and get the firestones. Kill all the worm/dragon thingies that keep popping up out of the holes. Go past 3 holes, jump up then climb a ladder, open that chest. No prob. Back down, go the opposite direction, fight the ninions in a large room. Over to the left is a chest. Bad news. I kept going back and getting fire stones to beat the ninions.
I hope that tells you where I am.
Got students in an hour then won't be able to play till tomorrow and probably very little tomorrow.
