Saw on Gamezebo about Vampire Saga-Pandora's Box over at Alawar and downloaded. I'm loving it so far. Definitely an IHOG and although I only played about 25 min...I think it's a good one. Just thought I would let everyone know in case you want to give it a try. thumbsup

That is the normal price for a casual game Darleen, we all used to pay that price before BF gameclub.

Your right Ana....I used to as well until BFG. I was hoping you'd say BF will get this....but I have to be honest, I'm really loving it and my hour is almost up. Not sure I can wait.....I have not patience at all especially when I really like a game. Will let you know if I get it and how it is as time goes on but right now I think it's a winner.
Barbara

Thanks Ana for the Blog interview. Much appreciated.

I'm glad to hear it's a keeper. Are there mini games?

So far there are no mini games...but there is really so much interaction doing other things that you don't really notice it that much. It's not difficult but it's not easy either. I like the story and the atmosphere definitely goes with the story. I really am liking it Ana. I believe that when it comes to BFG everyone will like it and it will definitely be a big hit. At least that's my opinion.

I bought it yesterday, and so far, am really enjoying it. I think I have made a boo boo by not having picked up something I should have, because I can't find any more active areas except 1 and I need another skeleton key for it-which I don't have. I hope I don't have to re-start the game.

Since I have no patience either, I'll not try the demo. Then I won't be tempted. I will wait for BFG who naturally can't get the game earlier than Alawar. You guys who buy it now can help us when we finally get it. wink

Well I actually did end up buying it and your right Dar it is not easy...it does take a little thinking but there is a hint system and it will push you along if you need it (I have in some cases). I don't think it's so hard that you can't complete it, but it definitely isn't easy. I absolutely love it and with my luck BFG will get it soon and then I'll kick myself, but I'm having fun and that's all I need. I said I had no patience and I just knew I would get it.....NYLady should have what your doing and never tried the demo. lol

Well, I just finished the game. It was really good. The hint system is quite fast, and the little journal at the side helps to keep you on track. Lots of interaction, and the few minigames that there are have a skip option after about a minute. Some of the wording is a bit off, for instance it listed a cabbage in one of the scenes when it was actually broccoli. I figure it was well worth the money.

Hi Sly One... LOL I can't afford to be impatient. I just retired and haven't been retired long enough to know how much I can afford now. I'm starting now to play all the ones I have again.

NYLady I certainly understand. I can't afford it either, believe me. But it's not like I do it all the time. For the most part I do wait for BFG as that is why I joined the club in the first place, but every now and again there is one that I absolutely love and considering I don't do much else these days, it's my way of doing something nice for myself so $19.99 may be steep most of the time, but as rarely as I do it.....it's okay. Will probably be a long time before I do it again, but you never know. : ) Just know that you have a good one on the way and hopefully soon.

You go girl! We all deserve a treat now and again. Please tell us about the game (without giving anything away). I have in the past treated myself to a few like Mortimer Becket. Nothing wrong with that. Most of the games are replayable too. I have about 140 now. grin Think I'm a BAAG? LOL rotfl

(I have to start cleaning them off my harddrive~)

I gotta get up earlier if I want to be the first to post here, lol.

I came to tell y'all about this too. And yes, I am sure BFG will be getting it too.

@NYLady, maybe time for a bigger hard drive rotfl

So many games, so little time.

I'm thinking to buy it now rather than wait for BFG. I finished the demo and like it a lot

Alawar $19.95 - Big Fish $6.99 = $13.00. That's exactly the amount I saved yesterday at the pharmacy. Renewing my prescription for bone metabolism regulator, I discovered there's now a generic form - same thing except $13 cheaper.

so, why not - carpe diem

on the other hand, my bone density would probably be improved if I didn't spend so much time sitting down, playing games. Currently, I'm purely stuck on the Hoyle Card Games package - playing canasta mostly, but also hearts and cribbage

NYLady - I bought Mortimer Beckett too - but 140? wow - what's a BAAG?

BAAGS stands for: Buy All Adventure Games Syndrome

But I stand corrected... It should be BACGS or Buy All Casual Games Syndrome.

This staying home isn't what it's cracked up to be... I'm bored (or would be without the casual games).

That 140 was a guesstimate. I just counted them on "my account" and there is 129 games plus I bought several elsewhere and a few before they started up the club so I would say it is very close to 140.

Hi GBers ok I just played the demo but here is my review of it. when you first start the game I thought oh no, not another straight hidden object game. I am so bored with straight hidden object.

However, I am happy to report there is interactive actions to do with certain items. I really believe this game needed voices for the characters it would add to the creep effect. If it would have had voices I I would have paid full price for the game. The hidden objects are not all that clear but there is a unlimited hint meter that just needs charging and it charges quickly.

I like that when your stuck in a room and don't know what to do the hint meter will let you know if there is nothing else to do in that room, and it doesn't count as using a hint. Also if your stuck and don't know what to do it will actually show you, now thats a great hint meter!

The graphics are nothing special. However I have to say the game starts out slow but if you give it a chance, you really get into the storyline. The demo ended for me and I actually considered paying full price for this casual game. That is until I saw the price, and I decided to wait until other game portals carry it hopefully BFG and the price will come down.

What I really liked is the interactive part, I could use some of the objects I picked up. In the beginning what I didn't like is using the same location with different hidden objects that got to be boring. Once your on the ship it really gets much better and the storyline grabs you. I will buy this game for sure just not at the full price.
