Had a senior moment there. Couldn't think of what they were called. The ninions, near the camp where all but one guy was killed. Don't know what chapter it is. It is where I get the bomb stones. There is a save pedestal by the water and lots of ropes hanging down. Hope that helps

Do you mean where Corwin, the sad guy who lost all his men is? Have you defected a really big spider down in a cave, then gone back to Corwin and burned away the spider webs, so you can go on in the game?
I'm still not sure where you are.

So, you are running along a hollow log and when you drop down, these exceptionally nasty things start popping up out of the ground and attacking you? This is one of the places where I recommended having a Waters of Vigor potion at the ready. Try to take out the guys shooting exploding arrows at you first. The blue ones are relatively easy to kill with your sword jump attack. If you can get the exploding rocks and get somewhere up higher, you might be able to get a couple of them that way.
This is a tough fight, so keep at it! I think it took me several days to get past it the first time I played.

Be prepared to do this area over and over, I had to until I figured out the best way to get rid of them. It took me forever to get past that blinking big spider too. Turn into a whack and run mission until my sword filled up again. I have to start playing again, have been so busy with the long drives to Kona and Mountain View. We went Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I don't want to go further than five miles for a long time, at least not in my husbands truck, ouch, ouch, ouch!
What kind of magic spell to use?

I don't have any waters of vigor so I may have to go back to the last level so I can buy some.

It will make your life a lot easier, but you might make your way past them anyway. I think they cost $1,000! I had two and used one for the minions and then one for the wight-lord in the cave on the other side of the water.
The first time I played, I didn't have any which is why it took me several days to get through!

I went back to an earlier saved gave, got to the vendor and didn't have enough coins to buy Water of Vigor, so I guess I will just keep trying until I succeed.

Lotus, first I would suggest uninstalling the game and getting rid of those patches. They don't sound like they are legitimate ones. Then run CCleaner on both Windows and your registry to get rid of any traces of the game.
Then install the game again and this time, make note of the exact error message if it crashes again.
Then I would suggest posting over in the Tech Help forum. Jenny and Inland might be able to help you over there. I have never used a patch to play the game. I've played it on both XP and Windows 7.

Help I totally don't understand this part in A Warm Welcome. I am in the area where you have to use a thing with levers to move the platforms around. Haven't played for a couple of weeks and don't remember what the cut scene showed and even after looking at the w/t on gamefaqs I just don't get it. Draclvr, where are you?

Is this the one where the platforms are in the water? If it is, you moved the platforms so that you can get to the rooms with a door one at a time. When you can run to one room, you have to get there before the doors close. Then you come back to the levers and move the platforms around to get to the next one. I think there are three of them.
It seems to me I had to use the S and D or the arrow keys to move them...
I finished several weeks ago, but I have tons of saves, so I can go back and check stuff.

I did as you suggested and the game did work but now it won't save. I have Vista Home Premium but did compatibility for XP??? I will try this once more and do another clean install. I want to play it so badly! I had played to the horrible giant spiders after he found the lone guy by the campfire on my old pc and lost all of my saves....sucha drag.
