Hi Kate,

You don't need the coins to solve the control panel puzzle. smile

Check THIS alternative walkthrough, it has complete screenshots which should help you.

luck

Kate, I assume you have gone past this now, but just in case . . .

I was unable to initiate this puzzle without placing the four gold coins on the starting space. Obviously others did not have to do that. Bug maybe?

Just saying, in case you have the same problem I did.

If trigonometry evolved from geometry, why is there still geometry?

Rushes,
I need help again this time on the windmill. How do I get it to the left side before I start pushing the first yellow botton. I'm also having trouble getting the lever down.

At certain positions the windmill will be blocked and you won't be able to turn it one way, or raise/lower it. Try turning in the opposite direction, or hopefully you saved your game just prior to starting this puzzle, so you can replay?

From ronrob's walkthrough:

The lever on the left is used to adjust the height of the windmill to one of three positions. The center yellow button turns the windmill clockwise, and the right yellow button turns the windmill counterclockwise.

Here's one solution:

Begin with the windmill facing to the left, due west, and at its lowest position (left lever all the way up). This is fairly easily accomplished. Now do the following:
1. Press the right button twice.
2. Lower the left lever once.
3. Press the right button once.
The windmill, now facing into the wind and at the middle height, starts turning.

luck

I did the solution about four or five times and it still will not turn. Here is what I have: te windmill is facing to the right and the lever is lock all this is before I start the puzzle. I need to get the windmill to the left and the lever down. What do I do? I hope you understand what i"m trying to say. My lever is all the way up when I start and won't move down.

Try this alternative solution from MaG's walkthrough. Make sure you are at the beginning of the puzzle with no levers or buttons touched yet:

Use the left base twice.

Move the lever to lowest setting and use the right base until the windmill (8xs) stops moving.

Use the left base once.

Move the lever at top setting and turn the right base until windmill completely stops (2xs).

Move the lever at middle setting and turn the right base (2xs).

Move the lever at top setting and turn the right base until it faces SW.

Move the lever at middle setting and turn the right base until it faces a bit to the front and the windmill starts turning.
