got halfway through the install, then when i received the prompt to put in disc two,i could not open the drawer to remove the disc. i had to cancel the wizard. then i could open the drawer and remove the disc. this occured 3 times. and what is a WAC disc, anyway?

sorry, this doesn't seem to be a good day for me.

again, thanks in advance for any help.

I suppose WAC is short for Waverly ACademy. The title of the first disc is "WAC Disk 1."
(It should be "Disc" with a "C" for optical media (CD's and DVD's), but they spelled it with a "K.")

Instead of double-clicking the letter for the drive, try double-clicking the Setup file for the game that's on the first CD. The computer may not want to release the CD because you double-clicked on the entire disc and not just a file on the disc.

sigh. this is not a good day. have clicked on the set-up file that did indeed open on the first cd. same thing happened - wouldn't give me back the cd until i shut down the wizard.
i've never had this happen on a nancy drew before.
usually, you stick them in and away you go.....
thanks for sticking with me,jenny

OK. Try this...
Manually copy every file on both CD's to a folder on your hard drive. The folder can be on your desktop if that's what's easiest for you, but it doesn't really matter where it is as long as you can find it. Once you have all the files from both CD's in this folder, run the Setup file from the folder.

Hopefully the install won't even need the CD's if all the files it needs are in the folder. But just in case it does want CD2, make sure it's in the CD drive.

do you think this could be an anti-virus thing ,too?

i just can't imagine why it won't install like every other nancy drew.

also,i'm not sure how to copy the files, since when you put them in,the install screen comes up?

Just close the install screen. Then navigate to your DC/DVD drive and you should see your disk listed. You can then right click and open it up or use Explore on the disk.

i have no idea what went wrong yesterday.
