Hi I have just started this game and have reached Capt Stenwicks home and spoken to him and also spoken to Sgt Rufles twice, I have done all I should at this venue and also gone around by the back wall put up the ladder and taken the fibre, then returned to speak to Capt Stenwick, but Sherlock doesn't speak at all and I am not able to carry on, please can you help me. Any Clues!!

It's difficult to say what you might have missed, there is so much to do in this section.

When you have Holmes examine footprints with the magnifying glass, do make sure to left click around until he comments. The same with using the measuring tape on the prints - make sure that Holmes states the shoe size.

Have you collected the cloth scrap from the shed door, the ball from the bowl inside the shed, and the fishscale from the grounds?

I have just tried again and measured the footprints but holmes doesn't comment on the size of the shoe print, I have tried this a few times, but he still doesn't say anything about shoe size.

That's possibly what's holding you back. Holmes needs to say what the shoe size is. The Holmes games are finicky about print measurement. Left-click-hold the tape measure from the extreme tip of the toe and drag to the bottom of the heel and release. Keep trying, you'll get it eventually!
