I'm still trying to configure my computer between bouts of doctor visists and I'd like some opinions on the Nvidia GT 220 or GTS 240. I know that the ATI Radeon 5870 is a very powerful card but I've always had a Nvidia card and somehow I'm reluctant to switch brands. Thanks

The GTS 240 is a more powerful card (it also comes with 2 flavors of memory... DDR3 and DDR5).

The DDR5 card has a memory bandwidth of 54.4 GB per second versus 32 GBs for the DDR3 models).

The GT 220 is rated at about half the bandwidth of the DDR5 card (25.5 GB PS)

All will most likely play Adventure games without issue - If the price is in your range, go for a GTS 240 with DDR5 memory.

Thanks InlandAZ, I also play a lot of darkside games will the GTS 240 handle those as well?

I don't play too many dark side games, but I would imagine the card would be adequate for those as well.

Hi InlandAZ, just wanted to let you know that at the last minute I decided to get the ATI Radeon 5870 video card. Hope I made the right decision. smile

You won't be disappointed, it's a great card thumbsup

I feel like a great weight's been lifted off my shoulders now that I finally ordered the new computer. My computer is giving me fits by shutting down at random times and I hope that by the time I get this new computer in 3 weeks or so, I won't have had computer nervous breakdown.
