I get the message HTTP403 forbidden when I try to install the live version. I take it something in my set up is not allowing it but can you tell me what I should do next? think

Congrats on the Teledahn Bucket! Well done!

OK, a couple questions, Mon.....

1. What Operating System do you have?

2. What stage are you at in installing (i.e., what were you trying to do when you got this message? (This message means that you have a valid internet address, but the server is not allowing you access because you are not authorized).

There are 2 - 3 steps for getting started with the free online URU (known as MOULagain - "Myst Online, URU Live").

a. Create a MOUL account (this gets you a username (your email address) and a password that allows you to sign-in. This is the top link in the PLAY page at http://mystonline.com/en/play/

b. Download the Installer (use the Cyan Downloader via the link on this same page for the easiest procedure) and save the MOULInstaller.exe on your Desktop for easy access. This will be fast.

c. Run the Installer (double-click on the MOULInstaller.exe that is now on your Desktop). This is the one that takes a long time...initially it may say that it will take 13 hours or some huge number, but wait a few minutes and the time will improve. Still it may be over an hour or two.

You can download and install the game before you are confirmed with your account info, but won't be able play until you login with the new account.

Hi there Dadguy, I have a new computer but still have XP (my choice), I set up the address and password, and then from the e mail they sent me I tried to click on the download that's when I got the forbidden message. So I went on the mystonline site as you said I am at present downloading Cyan it has taken - wait for it.... 5 hours - so far!! only another 1/2 hour to go, thank goodness I can do other work mean time. As you can guess I am REALLY looking forward to your para c which may well take another 5 hours, I just hope it works after all this. I did say I had slow broadband and I only live 20 miles from London, but that's the price you pay for living in the country. crazy

That part b. should have only been a 421KB file (i.e., short download)... so maybe you clicked "Run" instead of "Save" when the gray window popped up?

That's OK... that just combines part b. and c. together, so you might be good to go after the installer runs.

I lived in Somerset for two years (Yeovil) so I know about the country in England smile

A minor difference with URU Live is that you'll start in Relto (after creating your Avatar) and will have to find the book in the single pillar to get to the Cleft and start your journey. Let us know when you get a KI number so we can look for you!

Cheers,

Dadguy

Right I'm up and running, you were right I clicked run and I got the whole game at once, I have briefly visited and am about to go into the cleft so it will be a while before I get my KI number as I want to continue with the disc version as well, I have also been checking out G/B forums to see what problems other people have had (to avoid them), I have bookmarked the 2 sites that give info (from you)and it will take me a while to absorb even some of that, but I lok forward to joing the g/b hood etc. See ya soon. thanks

Great Monbron!

One last question in this Glitch area....

1. Do you notice the same video irregularities with the ONLINE version that you reported in the Offline version?

Cheers,

Dadguy

No. However I didn't have any problems in the cleft it was only when I reached the ages that the problems began and they are confind to moving objects, they have beige boxes around them, so I will have to let you know on that. I have now finished Teledahn and am on to Gahreesen where I still have the same visual problems, it did make it difficult in Teledahn trying to shoot the stones which I could hardly see, but I managed.
