I was wondering if I could reformat my win xp and install win 95. I have 12 floppies for win 95 how would I go about installing win 95. What boot floppy would I need,xp or 95. I have 3 pc with xp and I just wanted to try to install win 95. If it doesn't work I can reinstall win xp again. Thanks
Richard

a simple solution would be to get some free virtual software like vmlite or something like that and install win95 inside that....then you dnt have to blow away your existing os...win 95 will be in its own environment inside xp....works great

I found something about installing Windows 95 from floppies in ***this thread***

Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend installing Windows 95 on a computer that came with XP unless you have a lot of experience with older operating systems on newer hardware and really know what you're in for. Otherwise, look around for a vintage computer with around 200 MHz or less. Or install Virtual PC on your XP computer and Windows 95 inside of that.

If your XP computer is not your main computer and you just want to experiment with it and see what happens, go ahead. It can be fun to fiddle around and see what's possible. But don't expect to get online with Windows 95.
