I bought this game when it first came out and never played it until now. Well I just finished it and all I can say is wow! The last interval was just so awesome.
The only thing annoying to me was that the intervals were to much of the same. The environments were too much of the same. Another annoying thing was having to wait for the flashlight to charge up (and it was needed through most of the game) But other wise a very fun and exciting shooter.
I need to search here for reviews on the second installment.

The second one was just as awesome and the third one is coming in the fall! Aren't the ninja spider guys awesome??? They scare the bejeebies out of me.

Did you play the two expansions? Or maybe three, can't remember.

I never knew there were expansions.

There is a platinum edition that has the game and two expansions. Extraction POint and Perseus Mandate.

I suppose it is cheaper that way than purchasing the 2 expansions separately? Are they good? Is there enough game play in them to make them worth while? I mean one time I bought an expansion for a shooter and it was $20 and I think I got 2 hours of play out of it. Talking about feeling like you've been ripped off.

And don't forget FEAR 2 is out now, too...

As far as I know there are three games:

FEAR

FEAR: Extraction Point (expansion pack that requires the first game)
FEAR: Perseus Mandata - a stand alone expansion.

And then FEAR 2 - which I've seen in stores here in Denmark.

If you want to play the single player campaign in F.E.A.R 2, you're forced to install Steam as well

There's also the expansion for the sequel, Reborn, though "short 'n' sweet" is definitely the best way to describe it (you can easily blaze through it in a single sitting).
