The game crashes when I try to do some of the puzzles. It worked fine on the first several. I've downloaded the patch 6.1 I think. Have Windows XP. Could it be something else?

I don't remember the game being particularly crash-prone. Make sure you don't have any background programs running that could be interfering with the game. You might also try reducing audio acceleration since you have XP.

Thanks I'll try the audio reducing. I'll have to check on the possibility of background programs.

If you need instructions,
Quote:
To reduce Audio Acceleration:

Close all applications, then find RUN in the START menu. When the RUN window appears, type "dxdiag" where it says "Open," then click "OK."

The "Direct X Diagnostic Tool" window will appear. (Click "OK" if any error
messages appear on your screen.) Under the "Sound" Tab , There will be 4 different options:
-No Acceleration
-Basic Acceleration
-Standard Acceleration
-Full Acceleration

Try all accelerations starting with None to Full. After changing each
Acceleration, Play the GAME.

NOTE: Please be sure to put your computer back to its default settings if none of the above suggestions work or while the game is not being played to ensure that your computer is running at optimum efficiency.

Hapy try compatibility mode as well. Sometime that fixes strange behavior in a game for me.

I have xp also and by reducing the audio acceleration the game worked fine.

Yep - that was it. I had to knock it down two levels and now "it's all good"!
Thanks so much for help. My first game in a long long time. Fun to be back at it.
