Hi there. I have reached the grotto and spoken to Red Rump for the second time. I cannot get hold of his 'dirk' which I need. I have followed the wt closely but still haven't managed to get it so I can get the chalk. Any ideas would be appreciated, I am so close to finishing this great little game. Thanks Nanjoan

Hi Nanjoan -- for what it's worth, here are notes for this area. You may have missed something that will trigger the dirk. Serious spoilers Jane swims to the Entrance to Heck. Examine everything. Go to Red Rump. Examine everything. Touch the bucket. Talk to the Skeleton Red Rump. Return to the waterfall area and use the bucket on the waterfall closest to Jane's position.
Walk to the grotto. Examine everything and end up with the chair and scroll in inventory. Examine the painting. Touch the chair, mirror, sheets, candles, wine bottle (gives you the cork), bowl, bottle of rum, and snake statue. Jane kicks aside the snake statue.
Examine and touch the chalk behind where the snake statue used to be. Use the scroll on Papa Doc -- he translates it. Use the sheet on the mirror -- the mirror goes into inventory.
Talk to Red Rump again -- get his dirk.

Thanks a lot...but I still can't get the wretched dirk. I have gone back and forth with previously saved games but Red Rump absolutely will not give me the dirk. I would throttle him if I could...LOL I worked my way through the wt line by line  Any help would be great...... Nanjoan EDIT: YIPPEEEEEEEE got it on last try...thanks again

Thanks peeps. Yes I had missed the chair, all important, once I had that and spoke to Blue all went well. Great game I loved it, woluld definitely play it again. Nanjoan
