Trying to install CSI from CD and while 99% of the installation is over,i get the message to enter disc 1 where the file <EULA\Frannais.txt>
is,and what i`ve noticed is that the second n
of the word Frannais has a longer second leg.
As you can guess no such file exists.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

I don't know if this will work, but...
If there is a folder called EULA in your game installation folder, try copying the Frannais.txt file to that folder. If the game still won't start, try renaming the Frannais.txt with the "longer second leg" to Frannais.txt with a normal looking leg. You can't change the name of the file on your CD, but you can change the name of the file in your game folder.

There is neither Frannais nor Franηais.txt anywhere. If i copy one of the EULA files of the CD to the installation folder, then rename it to Franηais.txt and try to browse it still there is no result. The problem is that what can be renamed cannot be used by the set up process and what can be browsed
cannot be renamed to Franηais and so be used.
Thanks Everybody
Thanks Jenny 100
Still hoping

I think I misunderstood you when you said

If there's no Frannais.txt with or without the tail on the n, you won't be able to copy the file.

It might show up if you set hidden files to be displayed.

How many CD's does your game have and which CSI game is it?

In the beginning I had a contact with UBISOFT but the hidden files solution had no result.
The i asked them to send me the file if there is one with such a name but i never had any answer. The game is CSI[CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION] it`s a 3CD set and i think it`s the first of the CSI series.
Take into account that it`s my second attempt to play it,because i gave the first copy back, because of this certain problem. When i found out that the same problem came up again,i thought that perhaps i could overcome it.
Should i keep trying or return it again?
Thanks again

The original 3-disc CSI game is hard to get working, so don't feel too bad. If you can, get the 2-disc set (same game but updated). But the game is still hard to work with because it uses an older version of QuickTime.

Does the installation abort after the 99% and erase itself or does it leave most of the install behind?
If it leaves something installed, you could try the ***patch***?

If it's just deleting itself because it can't find a file that's supposed to be on the CD, it sounds like a bad disc set to me and I'd send it back.

I think we have a hopeless situation here .After 10-15 times of attempts to install it now the message changed. At exactly the same point of the installation it says again to put disk 1 but now it needs the file:Manual\Adobe Acrobat Reader-Tuchargement.url[there is also a vertical line in the middle of the u letter dividing it into two symmetrical parts.]The only file that exists is Adobe Acrobat Reader-Telechargement which as you can guess has the same problems with the previous case.Is this some kind of sadistic game of the manufacturer?
The only choice after the failure of finding the file is to cancel and after that, remains nothing of the game files in my computer.
I think it`s a lost case.
Sorry for having wasted your time for so long Remaining Grateful
Many Thanks
FRinSY
