I installed the virtual PC on my win XP computer. It is up and running but how do I install a game in it? The virtual PC (Win 98)does not recognize the disk drive so the game is installing on the XP OS. What am I doing wrong?

You need to install Windows 98 inside of Virtual PC. Check the ***Virtual PC FAQ*** for instructions for how to do this (if you haven't already).

If you've already installed Windows 98, make sure Windows 98 is running before putting the game disc in. If the game tries to install on your host computer (XP), cancel out of the install. Then use the Windows Explorer (or My Computer) in Windows 98 to browse the CD drive and run the game's Setup manually.

Could not for the life of me to get it to work. I uninstalled it and will try again today.

Jenny the cd drive was not showing in win 98. Only in XP.

Did the VM not install? If so, maybe your CD isn't bootable (Follow Metzo’s instructions for non-bootable discs -- and where the heck has he been lately? --).

If it did install but the device wasn't seen by the VM you might want to try modifying the CD/DVD settings in the Virtual PC Console. Toggle the Attach CD/DVD drive to secondary controller settings.

OK I got it running. Nightlong is installed and running fine. The screen is rather small. When I went to put it in the larger screen mode I got a message about not being able to toggle something or another in the larger screen mode so I got scared and just left it as it was. Is it a problem putting it in the larger screen mode?

I don't know about your error message, but if you decrease your XP's screen resolution, the size of the VM window will take up more of the screen and appear larger.
