What is the correct way to unistall the demo for Nancy Drew demo Trail of the Twister?

Robert,I always use Revo Uninstaller and It's free. It uninstalls everything associated with any game even reg.files.

Probably from your Add/Remove program.

Robert, did you try the "Configuration Panel" and then "Add/Delete programs" where you should find the demo.

I'm using Windows Vista and the game does not show up in the control panel/uninstall option and there's no uninstall option in the folder the game was loaded into.

I had the same problem. I'm on Windows XP and it was not in add/remove programs nor was there an uninstall routine. I ended up manually deleting everything I could find and then used a registry cleaner. That's a suboptimal solution but that's what I did.

Thanks for the suggestion to try Revo - which I did.

The only problem, as far as I can tell, is that Revo doesn't find the Nancy Drew game Trail of the Twister. It isn't included in the list of programs and I tried using "Hunter" mode and that didn't find it.

Then I tried the "Drag and Drop" feature and when I did I received a message:

"No installation package found....
Try to uninstall manually"

I'm a little frustrated with the people who released the demo without instructions as to how to uninstall or remove the game (unless I'm missing something.)

It looks like the only way to uninstall the game is to delete the folder it's in with all it's files.

I would be curious to know if anyone else installed the subject game and if they were able to uninstall it.

Also, if I'm missing something with Revo - please let me know.

Robert where did the demo install to? Did you have to put a icon on your desktop or did you run the game from somewhere else. Maybe it didn't install on your pc.

I agree that there should have been an uninstallation routine for the demo. When I downloaded, it asked me where I wanted to install the files and the choice was up to me. It didn't put an icon on my desktop and I had to run the game from where I had installed it.

Marian,The same thing happened to me. I picked a place to put the files so it really didn't install it in the pc. you just ran it where you put the files nothing in the reg. I just deleted everything from where I put the game. I never got a uninstall either.

According to ***this*** there's supposed to be a utility to install or uninstall that comes with the demo.

I sure never saw anything like that, and I did look around. It almost makes me want to download the demo again just to see what's up. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.

Sounds like the demo was supposed to come with an uninstaller, but didn't -- at least in some cases. Did you download the demo from HerInteractive or some other website? The one from HerInteractive seems to be 243 MB.

I downloaded the demo from Her Interactive, the same one you linked to above.

No, the HeR demos do not come with an uninstaller.

You have to manually delete the folder.

After unzipping the files they ended up in a folder titled: TOT_demo.

As other people have said, there is no uninstaller for this game (that I can see) and I guess the only option is to delete the folder the game is in and all its contents.

BTW I did download the demo from the Her Interactive site.

I just hope I dont end up with files left over in the registry that I have no way of knowing about.

If you run the same file that installed the game demo in the first place, does it give you the option to uninstall? Some games have the installer and the uninstaller in the same file, and the option you see depends on whether you've installed the game or not.

Are you talking about the TOT_demo.zip file from Her Interactive?

I'm talking about the demo people are complaining has no uninstaller.

I saw that in some games I installed but not this one. I don't think any of the files from this game went into the reg.
