Has anybody ever downloaded RPG demos from Steam? I'm in the mood for a good RPG, point and click, single player. Among my favorites are The Witcher (of course), Dungeon Siege, Two Worlds, Titan Quest and the two KOTOR games. I'd really like to try a game before I buy since I have a number of games sitting on the shelf that I bought and didn't like. Any help would be appreciated.

Is that site steampower.com? There's some great deals there. Now don't laugh. Will a download play on win7 even if the disc version won't? EDIT: My mistake - it's steampowered.com

fil,
Have you played Mass Effect 2? Good game, I have the box version, I am old-fashion. I understand there is a Demo for the game and that one can even transfer the saves to the actual game. I didn't try the Demo (normally I play demos first) because I was waiting eagerly for this game.

Hi mcc, no I haven't played any Mass Effect game, but it did look good on steam. Will investigate. Thanks.

Yankee, unless the game has been changed to support win7, it won't run as a download if the disk wouldn't. You could try asking their customer service or tech folks, but just changing the delivery method doesn't change the game (unless the disk security program was the problem.)

Thanks L4L, you've saved me alot of grief. I must be more discriminating about the games I buy. Didn't even buy a game at Wamart today because they didn't look too great. That's a start, now if I can just get by Amazon today.
