Both versions support touch screen (with the appropriate hardware) and speech recognition.

Sure

For touch screen support you'd need a monitor like one of these -

Touchscreen Monitors

Or, a laptop that has built in support like these -

Latitude XT2 XFR

You can find additional info here.

touchscreenlaptop.org

Speech recognition only requires a microphone and is a standard option.

Here's a link to Microsoft for additional info on that.

What can I do with Speech Recognition?

This is list of monitors which will support the touch feature... Monitors with Touch Support. I'm sure there are more out there.

I do not think I can afford a touchscreen at the moment. I have a new flat screen monitor. Will Windows 7 home premium 32 bit speech recognition and the magnification work okay on this monitor. Thanks Sam

Speech Recognition won't have anything to do with your monitor. According to ***this*** what you need is a microphone that you can set up for Speech Recognition.
