Hello All!

I paid 29.99 to download Whispered World only to have it nor run? I have Vista and a pretty decent laptop that I run games on with usually no problems. Is there a patch? Or do I need to do something special to run it? I REALLY want to play this game and am very frustrated!

If you bought a download version, it should already be patched. Make sure your video card meets the requirements and that you've activated the game properly.

Thanks, I did activate it . It starts to load for about 5 minutes, gives me half a screen goes black then new screen then just crashes. I have tried running as admin and lowering video settings but nothing . At a loss here may just ask for a refund. Dissapointing !!

The game requires a graphics processor with 256 MB. Being that it a laptop, you may be able to adjust your memory allocation in the BIOS. What does DXDiag show your currently using.

Click Start, Run (or press the Windows Logo Key+R) enter DXDiag and press Ok.

You'll find it on the Device tab.

Hmm, OK fixed some display stuff, clicked disable visual themes and desktop comp. Started game it loaded and ran but only showing 3/4 of screen? 1/4 of right screen and whole bottom inche of screen or so is black? My dxdiag says I have approx 251 mb memory. Not sure how to fix it . Maybe my laptop just not strong enough to play this game? I dunno. Very sad though I really wanted to play it it looks so cool.

What is the model of the laptop - most do allow you to specify the amount of shared memory in the BIOS setup.

Dell Inspiron 1525 and I apologize but i don't know what BIOS setup or the other stuff you are talking about. Excuse my ignorance , I am not well-educated in computer stuff

On page 308 of that manual it tells how to enter the System Setup (BIOS).


Once you're in the BIOS settings, look around for video or graphics settings. You'll probably have to navigate the selections using your keyboard, using the arrow keys, tab, Page up, Page down, Escape, and F keys.

I can't tell if you have an option to change the amount of memory or not in the BIOS. However to enter the setup routine follow these instructions from the manual -

Entering the System Setup Program
1 Turn on (or restart) your computer.
2 When the DELL™ logo appears, press <F2> immediately.
3 If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to
wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows® desktop. Then, shut down
your computer and try again.


If it's available you should see it as Amount of Shared Memory available to Video. There are generally selectable options from 64 MB to 512 MB.
