Hey, GameBoomers! I'm loving this game and doing pretty well, I think. I'm a level 23 custom and just finished my 4th Oblivion Gate closure. When I went back to the town (Chorrol) everyone had fuzzy pink glowing spots around them. I assume it's a Mage Guild problem, but inquiries don't seem to get results in this town or other towns. Obviously while I was off battling bad guys, a plague has stuck? Any clues or hints for me? It's annoying and I know it's a quest in the making if I just know who to ask or where to look.

Thank you!

Hi Atheen,

I used the official strategy guide to help me through but this should work.

That's the same guide I have been using and I have not found anything yet to help with this little pink fuzzy spot problem. I'll keep looking --- thank you!

I have never seen this before, only in a certain quest where the inhabitants of a village all had been turned invisible.

Did it also occur after you've closed the other 3 Oblivion gates ? - or did it only occur at Chorrol.

If it also occured after in the three other cities, it might be a side effect of you closing the Oblivon gate.

And do they look pink? or do they have pink color around them?

Edit:

I'm fairly certain after reading this post

over at the Oblivion forums at The Bethesda forums that you have detect life on. If you read what Acadian say, he says this e.g.:

Quote:
That means that she has to stop and pick flowers, swim in the beautiful waterfalls, eat lunch, look at the pretty clouds, and dawdle in a myriad of other ways. She wears lots of detect life range, and when a pink glow appears way ahead, she gets off her mare and sneaks up to take care of the threat.

As you can see, having detect life ON, will make others, including people in Chorrol send out a pink glow that's sort of fuzzy looking. You'll need to check your armour or weapons or your effects page to see if this is so.

Here's the description of Minor Life Detection:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Detect_Life

Quote:

Reveals all visible and invisible creatures within M feet surrounding them with a soft purple glow.

I think I kinda remember something like that but it was a fighters guild quest and well into it too. It was something to do with the hist but it was the blacksomething or other guild soldiers and not ordinary citizens with the pink.
Oh gosh now I want to get that game out again.
BTW, there are 60 Ob Gates - so don't finish the main quest until you've demolished enough gates and get all that good armor and sigil stones.

Wow. This is embarrassing! The cute little green helmet was magical and 'detected life'. I hadn't noticed that or understood how that would be manifested - so there you go!

I was even starting to think my PC was at fault or some other far off thing.

Thank you so much!

Atheen, I find the Detect Llife spell very handy. That helmet will help you in tough dungeons.

Glad you're enjoying the game. I love Oblivion.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Well you did it Atheen, last night I installed Ob on the PS and now at my command I have a very handsom double warrior Imperial with big brown eyes named Chopper. I still believe Ob has the best tutorial out there and then you emerge from the sewers and there's the whole world for you.
This is the 5th time around. If Elder scrolls 5 is as good as OB I will finally retire this game.
