Could I please have a saved game for just after the crate is lifted from blocking the shed door? It's very near the beginning of the game. I guess my mouse isn't happy with this type of gaming movement because I pull up and down as many as 30 or 40 times and the lever only just wiggles. And, when a miracle occurs and the lever does start to turn, my cursor disappears entirely so I am unable to do the rotation. It takes me a while, too, to move the window panels and move that rock. So, it must be a problem at my end. Hopefully, this type of movement won't be so prevalent that I will have to stop playing the game.

Anyway, if someone could send me a save I'd really, really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot.

I have my saves but unlabeled.
My game is download and I don't have my code anymore.
If you want I can send you a little at a time - since the file is big. Tell me.

That's very nice of you MaG, but I don't want you to go to such trouble. Don't bother sending me anything. I'll just dump the game if I can't get any farther. However, if someone else has a save for that particular scene, I'd appreciate getting it.

Hi Barb,

I've had a search but haven't been able to source any individual saves for this game.

Here's a tip which has worked very well for others having a similar problem at this point:

Click - hold - pull down the handle until the cursor is off the page - do this 3 times as fast as you can. No need to check what happens - just do it 3 times fast.

If you're having general technical problems with the game, though, this might not work. Worth a try, though! luck

I'll send you one and hopefully - I get lucky and hit the right one. Tell me and if so - I'll go out and buy a lotto ticket.

Thanks, Rushes. I'll give your method a try. Mag did send me a series of saves but they have a different file extension than the saves in my game. Mag's saves are .df3 and the ones in my program folder are .dcp. Don't know what this is, but my game won't accept Mag's saves. (Thanks anyway, Mag!)

I'll try to work my way through this particular part of the game and if I can't make the lever work, I'll have to dump the game. Too bad but no sense being totally frustrated.

The saves shouldn't be in the program folder - there should be a separate save games folder in My Documents, did you check there? smile

I hope the tip I posted earlier works for you!

Thanks for the answer, Rushes.

Yes, I've checked My Documents a bunch of times. The saves are not there. They are listed as act1.dcp; act2.dcp; etc. in my Program (x86) folder along with the other game files. MaG also said they should be in My Documents but I can't find them. I MUST be doing something incorrect! Sure wish I knew what.

Those aren't the save files, they're data files of some kind. Saves for this game always begin with the word "save" and then the number. I'm thinking perhaps your save folder has been hidden -- it happens with some games on some OS. Try this:

Open your Documents folder. From the top toolbar, select "Tools".
Select "Folder Options", then "View".
You may then need to scroll down a little until you see "Hidden files and folders". Be sure that the box for "Show hidden files & folders" is checked.
Confirm and exit out.
Then try searching for the save folder again.

GOT IT!!!!!! The saves were filed under Users\Barbara\Saved Games. I just copied one of MaG's saves into the folder and renumbered it. Stay tuned for the results. And a BIG thank-you to you, Rushes, and to MaG for spending so much time helping me out here!

It worked like a charm! Hey, MaG, go get that lotto ticket. Your guess was right on. You got me past that crank and brought light to the station. I couldn't ask for more. You folks are the BEST!
