Hi!

I have a friend who has never been intersted in PC or DS games. His daughter has a DS so he tried playing my Bookworm game (at my insistence) and is hooked!

He is close to completing Bookworm so, for his upcoming birthday, I would like to get him a game that is similar to Bookworm (if there is such a thing). He isn't interested in adventure games or games that require a lot of reading or have complicated instructions. I don't think that he would like timed games, either.

Since I am a Pc/DS game player, I rarely have trouble finding a game that interests me. He is a challenge! I keep hoping for a Bookworm DS sequel but until then, does anyone have any other DS games you have played that might work?

Thanks!

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I would suggest going to the Gamestop website, and check under the DS catagory, They have diferent subheadings as well. You could check under educational and see what's out there. That is how I keep up with what's available, even if I don't buy from them.

thracia,

Thanks for the great suggestion. I have used Amazon a lot becauser it has user reviews and I like to read what actual players think of the games but haven't really looked at the Gamestop site much. I shop at Gamestop but didn't realize that they have their DS games in different categories on the website. That will be helpful. I will look at it more closely.

I don't know what Bookworm is, but "Professor Layton" for the DS is a puzzle solving game. You could look up the info and see if this is something he would like.

Hi, Does anyone know whether or not nintendo ds games not purchased in the United States (say for example from the UK)will play on the systems in the US? I know you have to be careful about pc games. The info listed on a game I'm interested in says the format is PAL UK standard. Hope someone can help me. Thanks Angelgirl

The Nintendo DS is region free in the sense that any console will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world

Angelgirl, Wiki says they will except for games purchased in China. However, Wiki information can be great, but it can also be bogus due to the fact that anyone can edit it.

I'd suspect they are region free I know I bought a gba game that was the american version and it played fine on my ds lite so I'd assume it would be the same for the ds games. They've probably just put pal in as error.
