Is there any way to see in Windows explorer, how many files exist in a folder, besides manually counting them?

Hopefully, there is an option to set that I'm just not privy to.

Right click the folder you're interested in - and select Properties.

Edit -

You can also enable the File Count column on the display bar (where you see Name, Date, Type, Size etc...)

Right click the bar and scroll down to File Count (you may need to select More before you find it).

Edit again -

This feature no longer seems to be working frown

There doesn't appear to be. There is a file count column that can be enabled, but it doesn't seem to work.

Edit -

If you're still running XP, start explorer and select View. Place a check mark next to Status Bar - the number of Objects displayed at the bottom of the window is the number of files (including Hidden files).

Thank you again, I am still running Windows XP and that's just what I was looking for.
