I've been thinking of getting an authenticator - but since I live in EU with a US account, can I then use the one from Blizzard Store in Europe or do I need the one from US?

I'm glad you got your answer! It really is a must these days with all the hacking that goes on. Lately I've been getting phishing emails from people pretending to be Blizz. The most common lately is the one where they say my Battlenet account is frozen because of suspicious activity, and please click the link ..... Needless to say I don't click the link and keep forwarding the emails to Blizz.

One thing that makes me angry is how our email addresses get out there. The security, outside of the Authenticator, sure isn't tight. I don't do the friend thing so my address shouldn't be anywhere but in Blizz's database, but someone has it somehow.

What's disturbing to me Looney, is that I am also getting them in my real life email. Someone, somewhere, has managed to get rid of people's email addresses.

That is awful...now that you say that....I got one too awhile back.....

But I'm more inclined to think they use a program that randomly spits out possible email addresses just like the random phone dialers telemarketers used to use (or so I hear).

Just received the same e-mail and i have never even attempted installing the game. Reported the e-mail as phishing scum but i doubt it will actually work. These spammers/hackers/cheaters seem to grow exponentially in numbers. FPS games seem to suffer more in terms of cheating.

Yes they do Butcher....it's sooooooo annoying, but I'm not sure how they can be stopped.
