After trying patches, files, etc, I finally managed to run the game, but now, I've got as far as Chapter 4, spoke to Victoria and Bates, I got to the village, but couldn't move, get in the pub, speak etc!

If it does, see if you can get a saved game for it.

You may find the saved games in someplace weird, like
