My laptop which runs Windows XP can't read CD1, but has no problem with CD2.

I don't think it's the CD since I can read it on my Win95 desktop.

Any suggestions on getting the laptop to recognize it.

You might try cleaning the drive with one of those CD DVD lens cleaners - I had a similar issue not too long ago, it fixed it right up.

This is what I used:

Memorex DVD Lens Cleaner Cleaning disk - DVD-ROM

OK, but wouldn't a dirty drive effect all CDs not just this one.

What could be the problem with this one?

Not for me, some could be read (and written) others couldn't.

Well, it's definately worth a try. Thanks.

Could it be that my laptop can't read a Win/Mac CD-Rom, but then it should also reject CD2?

Looking through my past games to see if I have any other Win/Mac games.

I wouldn't think so - make sure the disc is free of smudges and scratches, they can cause read errors.
