Looks like I should simply consider "Risen" the last Gothic game. I'll probably play that when I finaly manage to finish the GIGANTIC game that is Gothic 3.

Ray, thanks for the link. I was afraid that the game wouldn't measure up to the Gothic standard when I played the demo. I think I'll wait till it drops in price and give it a try then. I did enjoy Risen. You might want to check out Nehrim. It is free and has a Gothic feel to it. It is huge and I am having a great time playing it.

Shoot, my copy of Oblivion is for the Xbox 360. Guess Nehrim wouldn't be free for me. Do you think the game is good enough it would justify me grabbing a bargain bin copy of Oblivion?

Yes, I am liking it a lot more than Oblivion and most players I've talked to agree. It is by a German team, so that is probably why it reminds me of Gothic.

I saw Arcania: Gothic 4 at my local EB store today. It requires a NVidea GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card. I have only a 7950 GTX card. Any idea whether it would work for me?
