You need to talk to the guy at the table in the saloon and ask him for a favor.

Hi Lori,

Click to reveal..

Have you beaten the librarian at checkers and asked him about things? After you do that, you should then get the letter on the fax machine. If you have received the letter on the fax and you have read it, the date of birth will go into your journal, and that's the date of birth you use.

Let us know if this doesn't help or isn't what you need in order to continue on with the game. smile

Thanks, Ana! I wonder how often we will be posting at the same time! grin

You know there's a skip option available for the checkers game, right? Not that I ever resorted to using the skip option. wink

Am having a problem- I'm on the pirate ship, just used the cannon to blow up the blockage on the crows nest on the other ship ,got to the rope going across but I can't get to the other ship with the crows nest. I keep getting put back on the wrong deck. If that makes any sense to you GB'ers I hope you can help me
Also ,on the fish fountain in front of the house I put all the coins in the middle 5 spots & rcv'd something & then put the 5 coins- 1 in the middle and 4 on the outside corners (shape of a cross) & got something.

One of the things you got from the fountsain in the gold insignia card and the other thing is the map pieces. You can collect 10 gold insignia cards throughout the game as a bonus.

If you can go across the rope you are going to the other ship.

Sorry about the wrong thread, I thought I was in MCF thread,(comes with age)I've been getting my 2 dogs names mixed up & they don't even look alike-especially when one is a 3-1/2 month old puppy)
Oh well, as long as I can still play my games I'll be fine.
I'm at the harpoon w/rope & I've gone back & forth several times ,but it stops me from crossing this time. I keep getting put on the deck of the ship w/the harpoon, not the one w/the crows nest.

AZhot, I can't help you out because I haven't played this part of the game yet. Is there any chance that reading this thread on the Big Fish forums might help? (especially, the last note in this thread):

Moving from ship to ship

Guys, can anyone tell me how to remove the cover for the piano puzzle? I looked at the strategy guide but it doesn't say how to open it. I have a screwdriver but it doesn't work. Thanks.

You have to use it on the 4 screws in the corners of the cover. Can you see the screws? It's in this picture from the BF walkthrough.

Thanks. I must have to line it up just the right way cause I tried on the screws and it didn't work.

Too funny, I was placing the screwdriver the wrong way. I was being too practical, trying to place it like a real screwdriver slapforehead Got it now. Thanks, Ana praise12

Help! I can't figure out how to raise the canons to get the skulls. I punch in the numbers like the walkthrough says, but nothing happens.

Karmyn, the cannon solutions are different for each game, so the walkthrough won't really help you here. I haven't played this part of the game yet, but here's one explanation that I found on the Big Fish forums:

Click to reveal..

1. Find a cannon.
2. Look at the symbol on that cannon.
3. Find the symbol on the large map (on the lower right side of your screen); it's the pieces you've been collecting when you do the puzzles.
4.There will be two of the same symbol with 6 small map pieces inbetween the symbols.
5. Look at the first map piece - it must be left to right if at the top of the large map, or from top to bottom if on the sides.
6. Look at the first small map piece.
7. Locate that little drawing on the big map (it will have a set of roman numerals with that little drawing).
8. Write those numbers down on a piece of paper.
9. Go to the cannon and input the Roman numerals.
10. Watch to see if the small button below goes down (if it does, you have the correct set of Roman numerals for the first out of six map pieces for that particular cannon).
11. Continue on with the second map piece and repeat the process from above until you have located all six map pieces for that one symbol.
12. After the last symbol is put into the cannon, it will pop up out of the water.
13. Do not forget to click on the skulls to complete the puzzle at that location.

Then move on to the 2nd and 3rd cannon locations.

I need help opening the wooden coffin to get the metal T shaped item. I can shake the coffin and it tells me the lid is stuck. I have used the hammer three times on it and nothing happens, the lid still stays on. The hammper gives it a little tap and goes back into inventory. I use is again and do this three times. lid still stuck. Is there a special place on the coffin to hit?

Chick, I believe you should be holding the hammer over the middle of the coffin and then clicking three times in order to remove the lid. Let me know if this doesn't work, okay? wave12
