Hi Donald, I'm thinking about getting an IPad and saw your post about these games and was wondering how do you get these downloaded onto the device? I tried clicking on the links but I only get the pictures of the game boxes displayed and I can't figure out how or where to download them. Thanks Angelgirl

Hi Angelgirl-

I was able to get them to work, but you have to go to the Sarien.net site on your ipad browser(essentially you play the games through your ipad browser), then when you click on the games at Sarien.net, you can add a link (icon) on your home page on your ipad, click on that icon, and you're good. luck

Hi, Thanks for the info. I guess I have to get an Ipad to get them to work. I'm off to break open my piggy bank! Thanks again Angelgirl

The legality of these "ports" are shady. This is an extremely area to tease out. I don't believe the developer is doing this for profit, but the ethics of doing this is still problematic.

Does anyone know if Sierra allows such ports to be made?

Hi DaveHT-

Good point regarding the legality of the 'ports'.
I found the following at the unofficial Apple weblog (TUAW)-

"Sarien, a.k.a. Martin Kool, hasn't received a cease-and-desist from Activision yet, but he has received some kudos from some of the original games' creators. Hopefully that will be enough to keep Activision's legal team at bay, at least until they get these games on the iPad officially.

Don't let that stop you from enjoying these games while they're up and available to play -- I just gave King's Quest another shot, and it's weird to go back and play a game where actual death is around every corner".

I was under the impression that Sarien.net was affiliated with Sierra or the game devs. To be on the safe side, I've removed my links on my ipad.
