Hi oldmariner,
Thanks for the link. Burning Studio reads like a very good program and it does have a disk-to-disk copy option. But it also has a lot of advanced features that I don't need.
In the meantime, while searching the internet, in some of the forums I visited 2 free programs were recommended: ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP - both supposedly are easy on resources and don't require a lot of hard disk space. ImgBurn doesn't have a disk-to-disk copy option, but CDBurnerXP does.
So for now, I'm going to go with CDBurnerXP for disk burning and InCd that Jenny100 furnished links to for packet writing to CD-RW and/or DVD-RW.
I bookmarked the Ashampoo site so, if CDBurnerXP doesn't work out, I'll try their Burning Studio.
Also, if I decide not to install Norton SpeedDisk on this computer, I'll return to Ashampoo and read more thoroughly about their defrag program. I think it may be just what I'm looking for.
Thanks again to everyone for your help.
