My hubby is an IT director and said it's pretty good and easy to use if you follow their directions.

Thanks Anna, I'm still checking. Sooo hard to know what to do since purchasing one is a big decision. Will check out archives for other posts to see if I can find other discussions. Thanks.

Thank you Drac, I am on the Seagate site now and I am really interested in being able to back up at least 2 computers. Can you advise me as to what components I would need to purchase in order to do this. I think that I am reading that it is possible, but since I am sometimes electronically challenged, I want to be sure I buy the right equipment. Looks like a good deal. Thanks

you have them set up as a network right? So you're looking to set up your backup to do both thru the network, right

Winfrey,
You know your avatar looks just like you? Wellll, maybe a little th----r,hee hee. Yes, maybe networking is a possibility. The Seagate might work a little differently than the Clickfree, I'm not familiar with either really. Did you check out the GoFlex at Seagate? Good prices. Did you get your email working?

The $99 drive is smaller and is meant to be portable.
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.2 x 2.21 x 6.54

The $79 drive is meant to sit on your desk.
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 7.87 x 9.06 x 3.54

Hi, Lynda!

I've been using "Clickfree" for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. The name says it all. You simply plug it into your USB port, walk away and it backs up all of your files. It does not back up your operating system or program files because it assumes you have the original disks.

You can back up more than one computer and restore your files to any computer you wish. It also sorts your backed up files into categories so they're easy to find. I would highly recommend it.

Susan

Thank you Susan,
I know it sounded really good when I checked it out. I am glad to know I can back up both my husbands and my computers. Sounds nice and easy the way I like. Thanks again.

Just an update on my Clickfree decision. After much research, I decided to buy the Clickfree. I received it today, a 1TB desktop C2N.I have a desktop with windows vista that I use for some contract work once or twice a week that I installed the Clickfree drive on. It came with a small flash drive that installs the program on each computer to be backed up. It took only 10 minutes to back up the files on that computer as the only program other than what it came with that I have installed is Quickbooks. Using the flash drive, I then installed the program on two other laptops running windows 7 without any problems. The backups each took an hour. The laptops backup through my home network. It does not back up the computer operating files, just the program files but I have my computer back up discs. So far, so good. A very easy install that anyone can do. It is also very easy to program your options and see your files. It has many other features still to discover. I think I made the right choice. Time will tell.
