Hey -

I'm planning on making quite a big game delivery smile I wanted to hear opinions of different gamers here. I read reviews and "narrowed" it to these:

-Missing: since Jenuary
- overclocked
- the void (important! smile )

Thanks!

Tomer.

It's the same game as In Memoriam. I wouldn't bother with it because it requires logging in online in order to play. If the server is down, you won't be able to log in and play the game.

Overclocked

It was OK. There was a lot of playing back of audio tapes for different characters -- lots and lots of audio tapes -- which I thought got tedious after a while.

The Void (important!)

Haven't played that one. It's described as a first person action/adventure at Mobygames.

Tomer,

You might want to check out the review by Inferno on Overclocked here. luck

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Hi Tomer

I was very disappointed with Overclocked. Way too much audio like Jenny said. It got to be quite a drag after a while. There was also too much running back and forth for me.

Didn't care for Missing either and didn't play Void ( not likely to in near future )

Sorry for being a downer - by no means is my opinion the norm - just my taste.

I would like to see the games you passed by in favor of these 3. yes

It's not the years honey, it's the mileage!

I also quite enjoyed Overclocked. It does have unusual puzzles, though, which seem to be a determining factor as to whether or not players enjoy the game. I found the story very enjoyable, the psychology aspect interesting and the puzzles themselves unique. My only complaint is that the game felt too short. I would have liked seeing more flashbacks (really enjoyed playing from the patients' point of view during the therapy sessions) and perhaps a different conclusion as to the cause of the characters' psychological traumas.

Still thought it was a great game overall, though. I've included it in my annual recommendations for the past two years. smile

Hi, Tomer

Missing...That game was a total waste of money...A very Odd game with no plot ..I thought...Never finished it <Dumped It>

Overclocked...I surprisingly liked....I did finish the game...There was a lot of dialog that came from the audio tapes, but it was interesting....Some what different game play....Now ...I am not a big fan of lots of dialog, but this game was different in the fact that you had to listen to the tapes to progress in the game....

The Void...I never played...

Overclocked ~ I liked it, the pshcological aspects of the game helped make it interesting
and the ending was unexpected.

Memoriam / Missing since January ~ I liked it,
and played w/o online info.

The Void ~ Haven't played this one.

haven't played the void or overclocked.

did play missing , and you do need to sign up online for some aspects of the game , but you can play after you've done that without being online every time. it is a very unusual game , and if you don't like arcade type puzzles it may not be for you. i enjoyed it a lot , and mostly played it at night which added to the mood , i think. but again , people either loved this game , or hated it.
* i can't recall if you had an option to sign up online , or if you had to to start the game ,and then you could go to the info sites or not after that.

what games did you decide not to play?

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I decided to be greedy greedy and order all of the above - I've asked in several forums and the avarage comments on them convinced me to buy them.
Missing is a risk - but it was 1 (!) pound in amazon.uk, with delivery about 3, so I took it.

People here seem not to have played the Void, but in another forum I've asked in (german forum, adventure-treff), everyone who played the Void said it's simply a masterpiece. It is not a classic adventure in any way, so it seems - but I'm pretty liberal there - am really expecting to play it!

The only game I pondered on and crossed out (didn't ask about it cause there's enough reading material) is Still Life 2. :-\ Would rather let the good taste Still Life 1 stay...

So I bought:
-The Void
-Overclocked
-Missing
-Syberia collection (1+2) + Amerzone (was really cheap, and I didn't own the Syberia games yet, though I played them of course)
-Black Mirror 2

Yum.

Thanks again!

I loved Missing and it's sequel, but like others have suggested it's a very unique game and different from many others you will play. Parts of it will require research on the net and some advanced deductive skills. But if you like that, and a serious subject matter, it's very fun.
