Hi, I never needed to post about a PS2 bug/glitch on here until today.

I bought a used SOTC game and I put it in my PS2. The "Playstation 2" logo comes up and I see a circle of dots in the right hand corner meaning the game itself is loading.
Once the circle is done rotating...it's just a black screen. I waited for a few minutes and still nothing. Now there are some scratches all over the disc but they aren't deep at all(I've run used PS2 games with worse that worked).

What is wrong with this and is there any fix?
-Thanks frown

Can you try it on someone else's PS2?
I suspect the problem is the disc.

You aren't using a Gameshark, Codebreaker, or Action Replay disc, are you? Those don't work right with every version of a game and can cause some not to play.

Nope, I don't use those cheat devices. All other games I have load fine, so I guess it is the disc *sigh*

Have you tried giving the disk a good cleaning?

It's spring. My life is weeds.

Yeah, I tried that too. Still no go.
I called Gamestop and they said I could return it as long as it's been within the month (it has) so that's what I'm going to do.

Hold the disk up to the light to make sure that there isn't a spot missing on the label side. I had this happen to me on a used PS2 disk. Good that you are able to return it and hope you can find another. It is a great game.
