Side note: The Egyptian Prophecy I have uninstalled for now, in case people are wondering why these posts were back to back

Hello again,

I have a Windows 7 64 bit laptop.
So far games have run flawlessly, with me only needing to create a documents folder for Blackmoor Manor and Danger on Deception Island.
I have already visited the tech website, but the few things it told me to do didn't work.

Problem:
I installed via my documents folder for Scarlet Hand and started up the game. Right away, during the opening "Dear Dad" I noticed lag between her voice and the text. The text would appear at least 5 seconds late.
Once I picked junior level, I automatically started talking to the red-haired lady (not sure of her name). Again, the text was lagging to her voice. When I finally was able to exit the conversation, I noticed that pressing the arrow to go forward, turn around, anywhere really would lag for a couple seconds with my computer making a revving up sound, which would go quiet once the lag was done. Sometimes when I clicked on an artifact there was no lag, but most times there is.

What I've done:
-I've reinstalled using my documents as there was an .in pathway error.
-I've tried compatibility tab for XP service pack 3, Windows 2000, and 98/Me. (Left clicking on the .exe file in programs)

Does anyone have any clue as to what is wrong and what I can do? The game looks fine except for the lag.

That sounds like your laptop may be switching between a conserve power mode and a performance mode. Have you checked the power settings on your laptop to make sure they're set to performance?

You could try setting the game's affinity to a single processor:

Start the game, and press Alt-Tab to bring you back to your Desktop. Now bring up the Task Manager (Control-Alt-Delete and choose Task Manager) and click on the Processes Tab.
Find the game's .exe in the list and right click on it. The bottom option in the screen that opens will be: Set Affinity.
Open this and set the affinity to a single processor.

Even if it doesn't work, it won't affect anything outside the game. Since the game was made back in 2002 when gamers had computers with a single processor, setting affinity might help.
